i've talked to multiple people about this, maybe someone else can shed some light here
just looking for a game that has similar pvp style like diablo 2, seems like nowadays while there is a lot of good rpg's i still haven't seen or heard of one that replicates the traditional style pvp that diablo 2 offers, torchlight 2 is an awesome game when it comes to pvm rpg style (also had creators from blizz north on it so it was solid) but the pvp in torchlight is a joke basically just 1 shots back and forth so its pointless
also diablo 3 was a HUGE let down, it's been a decade in the making since d2:lod and its just a night and day difference, so i don't even bother with that game. and if there isn't anything out there with similar pvp that d2 has why not? is it really that hard for new dungeon crawlers like d2 to create good pvp? opinions? thoughts?

Bloodline Champions is about as close as you can get to Diablo 2's isometric pvp, but it's a bit slower than Diablo 2, and it's structured around team gameplay rather than "duels." If only Westwood's Nox were still around...That game's pvp was on another level

Path of exile might have something similar to d2 pvp eventually with it's cutthroat league, but that's probably a ways off from being realized.
By d2 pvp do you mean the fact that pvp is non consensual or just the mechanics of d2 in pvp?
PoE has a lot of mechanics like d2 and has a lot of complexity, but pvp isn't very serious and there's no real incentive to pvp yet. Path of exile is probably the best dungeon crawler arpg out now and has tons of really cool mechanics and theory crafting to do though.

Also, PoE's PvP generally sucks right now. I still like the game, but the PvP isn't anywhere close to what they want it to be.
