So it seems that Quantic http://steamcommunity.com/id/thepropane

was super nice enough to release an update that works with steam pipe :)

Appears he is maintaining his version of lawena since the original coder seems to be inactive
ive tried it myself and it works like a charm

there are still some few bugs. When you are done recording and exiting lawena program your config files will not move back to custom directory, instead it will remain under this directory "lwrtcustom"
simply move the files to custom and it will working like before

Fixed

Edit: author told me theres fix for the bug i mentioned about ccustom directory not moving back

I'm not sure if I'm just lazy or not willing enough to put up with the small bullshit like moving files back constantly. I'll wait this one out and use another tool.

My only problem with the older one is that every time i went back to my regular game, it would turn off damage #s and hitsounds, i didnt have a big problem with that, but I might look into this new one to see the improvements, thanks anyways :D

I haven't had any trouble with the current version. Just needed to change my tf directory and everything went swimmingly.

doesn't work just like the old version and does the exact same thing, just says "Starting TF2" for like 5-10 minutes then opens the registry as if it crashed without even opening.

anyone else?

Quantic has released a new version which should fix the issues mentioned on this thread. Tf2 do launch automatically now, the cfgs will be moved automatically when you close lawena.

and srcdemo will work with lawena.

Also to use lawena please delete all files from the original lawena as this version of lawena altered by Quantic is different and will only work with his lawena version.

Is there a thread on here for the best way to record a video (which tool to use or w/e). I don't make videos ever so I was just curious. Is lawena like the best tool?

When selecting my tf folder, I have this problem:
http://puu.sh/33Bgj.png

I think it's a java issue. Any help?

Lawena as a whole seems a little glitchy displaying things. I'd recommend either typing out the tf directory right at the bottom of that window, or editing the tfdir.lwf file with it.

Just a note that if it glitches up when you change your FPS, skybox, VDM ticks, etc., don't worry. The changes are there, they just don't show up properly sometimes.

I can't edit any of the options / dropdowns once I'm actually in lawena, it just doesn't display. It looks like just a static screen, I can't interact with any of the elements.

I had this same problem, it was because I had my Windows performance options on "Adjust for Best Performance" on this screen

I just temporarily use "Adjust for best appearance" to fix it, since I'm too lazy to see which specific option is causing the problem

I've been using Lawena since Steampipe with pretty much no problems... I think I had to shift around where some files were, but once I did that I haven't had any problems since.

Great. I never would have thought of that, worked perfectly.
