It was a link that basically led to a button that when clicked, would create a infinite number of tabs all leading to lolcats until you either crashed or closed the whole window itself

yea a bunch of new screamer sites have been created lately. watch out what you click, read domains carefully, and disable flash for non-trusted sites (you can do this in chrome by going to settings > advanced options > content settings > plug-ins > click to play. you can also whitelist sites like youtube and twitch so you don't have to click those flash players).

It was only the flash file that spawns the new windows (if you enable the flash it enables javascript for the flash object, which can create new tabs/windows), so if you could close that one the rest of the tabs didn't matter. Either way, it's probably a good way to get banned.
