OverPowered League Ladder Discussion

We've been discussing the ranking system for OverPowered League and would like some feedback on it. So far, what we have in place is that each team will start out on the same playing level. Every team they play against will affect their ranking. Score is considered in the rankings, so if one team was steamrolled by another team, it will be more apparent than if it had been an even match. We are considering using the preseason to have a rough idea of where each team stands, so that teams can choose to play other teams within their general level.

However, the issue with this is that unless we have a large amount of teams signed up, people might not be able to find matches with times that fit their schedules. Considering the main purpose of OverPowered League is to allow people who cannot play typical comp because they cannot make the strict schedules of comp, this would sort of defeat the purpose of the league. On the other hand, if we allowed any team to play any other team without considering team skill level, it might lead to games where a team gets steamrolled over and over again. And that's not very fun either for both parties in question.

We want to make this league something that you would want to play in, so we'd love to hear your ideas!
