Default crosshair with broesel switcher; cl_interp

Hey!

I have been using a config generated by tf2mate, and it included the broesel crosshair switcher. I really like this on every class except for scout, my main. I much prefer the default crosshair (parentheses with the dot in the middle). Does anyone know how to switch this crosshair back only on my primary without changing anything else?

Also, could someone explain to me what cl_interp and cl_interp_ratio (or whatever it is) do? I have no clue.

Thanks.

Thanks-

Where do you put this?
//SCOUT
alias scout_primary "big; white; default; off"
In autoexec?

Okay, what if I wanted to use a different scout crosshair, like this one?

And can someone answer the cl_interp question?

that's a hud crosshair. you can find that crosshair here: http://www.sdx-gaming.eu/?page_id=849/garm3nhud/garm3n-hud-and-overlay-crosshairs/ it also gives some info on how to install them.

I'm not the best to answer the interp question: I believe the technical answer is it determines how far away the character models are interpolated. The only difference I observe is when I accidentally change it I can't use hitscan :P. I'm sure there's a better definition online if you google it, but someone else can probably answer it too. Also search the tf.tv forums for interp, there might already be an explanation.

Its purpose (for us players, anyway) is basically for hit-registration purposes. If you have a bad interp for scout, a lot of shots won't align properly and some shots will even do 0 damage despite bullet decals bouncing off the enemy. If you have a bad interp for soldier or demo, the projectiles come out of your weapon fairly delayed.

So the higher the interp value, the higher ping you have? I'll try to get the crosshair to work... looks a bit complicated for my simple mind.

Thanks to both of you who replied, and Fragile, it was fun playing with you tonight!
