While I can't say if this will end up on ESEA servers or not at the moment, stuff is being worked on.

Edit to clarify, was on phone: This is a web app, it requires SourceMod atm, but is being ported to Valve's plugin API. All of it will be open source once the Valve plugin is stable-ish (currently just one bug!)

Now we just need Instant Replay...

Bluee, is there a way to modify the image in the minimap? Some parts of Gullywash are more easily recognizeable than others, and it'd be especially good if the map wouldn't include the non-playable background areas.

If you mean cutting out the useless areas players can't get to, yes, I was just lazy doing this one. If you mean removing some of the roofing covering interesting areas, not sure yet.

The ultimate goal should be to make things easy for the viewer to recognize.

Here are just a few more things that I would like to add to the pot.

The donation stream isn't a bad idea and it could certainly help grow the game, I got interested in some of the guys from ADGQ and you can see several of them have talked about the spike in stream viewers they personally get now due to that event giving them so much exposure - it's a symbiotic relationship that ultimately benefits everybody involved.

Frag videos. It sounds stupid, but how many people can attest to the fact that a well produced frag video got them beyond "hey people play tf2 comp, that's neat" to "maybe I want to try this" We've been kind of in a lull as far as frag vids go since Cla's "pop culture"

More consistent match streaming. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we need to just re-air casts, or even post-produce casts and put them on as many nights as possible. VTV has been doing stuff everyday lately with fairly good numbers and their stuff is live - but it's not unusual to see a star craft stream rebroadcasting stuff for the second or third time in a day with 900+ viewers. Plus it would allow for rivalries to be built up to be a bit more than they really are - whenever bp. plays mix^ there should be a rebroadcast of the last several LAN finals or upper bracket finals etc. This is easy, all you have to have is a guy who can stream log in under the proper account and go to work. Not to mention that people who miss games would have less of an excuse - plus you could air stuff when the majority of the comp community isn't playing. Perhaps I'm wrong, but more page views can't hurt yeah?

I would also suggest, beyond what has already been established, that we have a serious discussion about systematizing how camera work is done for casts, and perhaps recording from multiple perspectives so that rebroadcasts can be more efficient or serve different purposes. I'm not criticizing anybody's recent camera work, but just imagine that you had never seen snakewater before, one minute you're looking at something thing you have no idea what it is.... then you see it again and you begin to get the flow of the map down, and then WAM some scout is doing stuff in some place that may as well be Mars, and you can't really understand what's so great about Mars other than that red and blu are there too. I would even suggest, although I'm sure it'd be boring for casters, that like in Star Craft, that 15+ wait time at the start of the cast should be spent talking about different spots on the map - we need to start assuming that people don't know whats going on and would be more engaged by the content if we explained it more.

When someone says mini map to me I think of a small box int he corner showing the immediate surrounding area. I don't think that would help in TF2. But a full overview is another story. If it could be pulled up by casters easily in the middle of a match it would be an invaluable asset to casting in general.
