help with fps

so, my problem is that my fps drops every ~ 30 seconds. normally my TF2 gets around ~ 130-190fps and drops at 60-70 with so much lag. someone can help me?

my specs:
CPU : AMD FX-4300 Quad-Core Processor 3.9GHz
RAM : 8GB DDR3
GPU: GeForce GT 520
Motherboard: ASRock N68-S3 FX

check for overheating problems and mess with mat_queue_mode values (-1,0,1,2)

could your video card be over heating?
I remember using GeForce GT520 and randomly having shit fps.
could be 100 with 1920x1080
and 20-30 with 1280x720.
recommend buying a new one.

I had a similar issue. My fps would go from 280 to 20 every few seconds. I thought it was my gpu thermal throttling. Turns out my cpu was idling at about 90C. My thermal paste was actually all dried up. I don't know if this is the same in your case but you might want to look into your cpu. Download something like msi afterburner to check your temperatures.
