Hi
So I previously had the hp x2301 ultrathin monitor (60hz), and I decided to get the 144hz BenQ XL2420T model. I received it today and the:
Performance: Absolutely amazing no doubt 144hz>60hz
Colours: It was bad out of the box, but then I installed one of those icc profiles and adjusted the gamma, brightness and contrast and now it's fairly good. Colours still look a bit washed out especially the dark (black, grey) ones which bothers me.
And now I looked up a review video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6wIMaYjklE

about the BenQ XL2420TE, and Linus mentions at 8:50 that the TE version is so much better then the last generation T and TX, due to the vastly improved colour re-production. Now the BenQ XL2420TE is not available on amazon.co.uk, but I could get the newest BenQ XL2430T.

So my question is: How similar these two monitors (BenQ XL2420TE vs BenQ XL2430T) are in terms of colour reproduction.
I can refund my current monitor (not a problem), I just need a monitor that has a little bit better colour depth then my current one.

Thanks guys

2430T or the 2420/11z models should all be reasonably good updates since the TE model.

Also after calibration nearly all these monitors are the same in terms of color quality.

thanks for your quick reply. So do you think I should get the 2430T model then? Are the colours really improved in the new models or they basically look the same after some colour calibration. you said that its a good update but then you said they look the same in terms of colour quality.

All are based off the same panel though the newer ones have different options based on vibrancy and Black equalizer. Which typically make true color quality worse though you may prefer how they look.

just to clarify the 2420T has an older panel that wasn't as good as the one introduced in the TE model. The TE model has the same panel as the 2430T and 2420Z.
