So my mouse finally died after 5+ years. I got a replacement MX518, however it is the updated 1800dpi model. The problem isn't so much the dpi, but i discovered after reading around, that they used a different optical system (i believe it's similar to the one in razers)...and it feels not even remotely the same.

Anyone have the original 1600dpi version they would consider selling to me? Add me on steam and we can discuss price and whatnot. Thanks!

Under description it says 'up to 1600DPI' so I assume this is the original one, like you have...

Click the used button, looks like it's around $35.

Although if it was me, I would just buy a brand new one... Can't imagine using a mouse after someone else :S

Thanks for the link...looks like the only true 1600dpi one there is for 129.99...waaayy too much.

I checked ebay too, the only 1600dpi models are shipping from hong kong, and i can almost guarantee they will be fakes.

I think you're out of luck then dude :(...

I checked some more around the net and even back in 2008 people were struggling to find the 1600DPI ones.

Maybe you should just try and get used to the new one? Or start looking at other mice? I know switching mice sucks big time...

you could always get a g400 and set it to 1600 dpi, they're pretty similar

I used to use a mx518, seconding the g400 recommendation it's basically a better version.

G400, Zowie AM or EC1/2, or Deathadder are all great alternatives. If you are unsure about it just go to Best Buy and buy them, try them out, and return them after you buy the one you like more.
