I'm looking to finish my ultimate TF2 setup and become the best player in all of invite. I don't know much when it comes to peripherals so if you can help that would be great.

Right now i have a puretrak talent with the g400, and a sidewinder x4 keyboard. Using some general acer 1080p 60hz monitor.

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor and keyboard. Money isnt too much of a factor, i can put about $400 into a monitor and $150 into the keyboard.

Monitor Essensials:
1080p
120hz
Right now i'm looking at the Benq XL2420T for a 120hz

Keyboard Essentials:
Mechanical
Backlit (Not essential, but it would be nice)
Right now i'm torn between the CM Quickfire, a DAS, Blackwidow Ultimate, or the Ducky Shine 2. I'm not really sure which I would prefer, or what switch is best for me. I do type some papers for school and stuff, so if the typing is horrendous I would not like to get it.

If you want my computer specs i have an i5-3570K and a GTX 660ti, so my FPS in TF2 sits around a stable 350.
Thanks for the help

One thing you should do is keep your current monitor and use it as a secondary monitor.

BenQ is coming out with a new 120hz soon so thats something to think about. http://www.techpowerup.com/173185/BenQ-Unveils-the-XL2411T-24-Inch-Gaming-Monitor.html

Yeah im planning but i'm not sure if the video card will support it. I have a DVI-I and DVI-D port, and the DVI-D port is needed for the 120hz feature. My current monitor is lacking that it only has a DVI-D and VGA port

For the keyboard, you should get http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=leopold,tenkeyless&pid=fc200rrab
It is ergonomic and has Cherry Mx red switches. It sadly isn't backlit :P

Get a TKL board and a separate numpad. I wish I had done that, my Das takes ups so much space.

I wouldn't exactly say specs = skill. (maybe at LAN) But all you need is decent stable fps, working mouse, and keyboard and you are good to go. Wouldn't say 120Hz is that needed unless if you have the money for one, then power to you.

The XL2420T is sooo worth it. No regrets after buying it, only happiness, but I would wait to see what the new XL2411T will cost.

Definitely go with the Leopold keyboards, they are the best mechanical keyboards for the money.

Just go with a fullsize one if that's what you like, pick red switches or black...it's up to you.

Unicomp is not that great. Buckling springs are kinda meh. Das Keyboard and Ducky's have the best quality in terms of keyboards. So if you want blues or brows go with them. Otherwise go with Leopold or Ducky for Reds.
