kA_hud is a minimalist hud derived from the popular and now discontinued yA_hud prev. It focuses on keeping a clean look with an easily understandable visual language for competitive play. kA_hud is currently in release 4.

I think he's refering to the old style when it was first relased. Not everyone likes the direction he took, but this is a pretty good attempt of reviving the old setup.

Yep, this was my personal hud for a while that I just updated to keep current with new features being added in and my own personal tastes. I decided that because the old yahud isn't being updated, I might as well polish up a few things and release it to the world.

Most of the options have been stripped out but I'll look at putting them back in if there's heaps of demand. For now I'm looking at making a definitive version that's easy to keep track of and keep up to date.

Release 3

- Reduced fadeaway time for damage markers (Now matches max batching length, 2 seconds)
- Minor clientscheme changes
- Added options for No Health crosses on target ID and Player HP (more like classic yA_hud)

Please let me know if there are things you guys would like to see in this hud, some guy messaged me like 30 minutes ago wanting no health crosses like the original yahud. EZ fix.

Find the font being used for the crosshair in clientscheme.res and turn outline to "0"
So if the font is xHair, search for xHair in clientscheme.res.

First of all, I love this hud. Second of all, the 3D models seem to be broken. For me, they don't change per class, and often the team colour is wrong.

EDIT: Spy disguise images are also broken, you always get the scout image.

You need to delete the entire "attriblabel" in the spec and item panel .res files. Just do a global search for that term in a text editor.

This is due to it being based off the right of the screen and not the left, I will have to spend a lot of time switching it around. It was originally a right handed scoreboard but I liked it on the left better for various reasons. But I will get to that, probably for the next release. I'd recommend trying out Fosters scoreboards in the meantime, which I personally use.

Of course, if you'd like to and as a stop gap, you can use the yahud version of the scoreboard but it doesn't include my recoloring. The right handed one will also interfere with the spectator hud, and the left handed one leaves room for a spectator UI.

The 16 vs 16 Scoreboard (and I assume the rest of them as well, however, since I only use the 16 vs 16 one, I haven't tested the rest) cuts off the ping values when playing at lower resolutions.
I was playing at 720p and only the 1st number was visible. The fix is pretty simple and its just to replace the width values in the scoreboard.res file to the following:

"status_width" "12"
"nemesis_width" "13"
"class_width" "15"
"score_width" "15"
"ping_width" "20"

Maybe a minmode could be implemented where the column widths are re-scaled to work for lower resolutions?

I personally don't know much about this since I have pretty much no coding experience, and just decided to play around with the file for about 20 mins (also, better values could probably be chosen, but I just went with something that worked).

You can do that using PsPad Editor.
Once inside, just try to edit the values of the different column widths, by making them smaller so that more can fit.

The main problem with that scoreboard is how narrow the viewable areas are for each team.
You can probably change that by playing around with the "wide" parameters, and increasing those, and then using the "xpos" to move the 2 parts horizontally so that they dont overlap.
I suggest just playing around with it a bit.

I'll look into it over the weekend, Chrom3w0lf, but no promises, since I my coding isn't that good.
Although, if you know of a way of refreshing/updating the HUD in-game without needing to restart the game, that should make the whole thing easier.

hud_reloadscheme to update the hud. you can bind a button to it to make it even easier
