frame stuttering when turning

Hey guys, recently whenever I play tf2 I've been experiencing frame drops/stuttering, but only when I'm turning. I'm using Chris' highframes config with his launch options.

For example, whenever I do a 180, I turn in small steps, instead of smoothly turning.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

edit: may be fixed with -nojoy and -dxlevel 81 in launch options

Is your framerate dropping significantly when you turn? (net_graph 1 or cl_showfps 1)

I've noticed, at least with my computer, when I turn it is not really smooth in any way. I can tell when I'm just strafing left/right that it looks nice and smooth (comparing to 45/60fps streams on twitch). But that could just be me being stupid, haha

I notice behavior as if frame blending was enabled whenever I turn with the mouse, strafing is fine though.

random example of frame blending...

Only limited to source games, QL and other games are fine.

I have this same problem and i even tried the -nojoy and such. Happens only when i turn the view my fps drops to like 3-17 when i get 60 frames staying still or just walking around. I've updated my drivers and all that but that didn't help really other than a bit of fps boost when i'm moving. I have no idea what to do now x.x Please help me, i miss playing tf2 without any problems

started happening to me again, so i just deleted my common/Team Fortress 2 folder entirely, and reinstalled. Seems to be fine right now. I'm using chris' old highframes config, along with -dxlevel 81 -nod3d9ex in my launch options. I haven't found any downsides to keeping the -dxlevel, it actually gives a pretty substantial fps boost.

Chris' configs are terribly outdated, I REALLY wouldn't use them if I were you.

It could be that your computer may have viruses. I've heard people saying they have fps drops when moving their mouse and to later find viruses. Clearing them out fixed it for them.

If you didn't know, someone made a config generator. It's pretty neat.

The config generator uses Chris' configs as a base. And even if Chris' configs are a bit dated, they still work fine and there isn't really an alternative at the moment.
