#7 The Complete Guide to Streaming TF2 with OBS in TF2 General Discussion
FckingMadIf you get input lag from using OBS alone, lower your send buffer size to 4096.

What's the logic behind this? Is this something that worked for you?

I'm quite curious, could you go into a little more detail about the issues you were having the settings you were using?

#4 The Complete Guide to Streaming TF2 with OBS in TF2 General Discussion
PlatinumGuide looks really good. Well done. In your experience, using dxtory+obs is better than using just obs?

Bassically OBS is more efficient than xsplit and lets you stream at the same quality using less resources. However most people are just using that extra room to do 60fps.

In theory OBS + Dxtory should give you the best playability. You'll generally get a little less FPS than just OBS alone, but in return you'll get absolutely no input lag and a lot less micro stutter. However dxtory performance varies almost randomly from computer to computer so this might not be the case for you personally. Just give both of them a go and see what works better. 90% of the time it'll be dxtory.

#1 The Complete Guide to Streaming TF2 with OBS in TF2 General Discussion

Hey guys.

So this is the result of about 8hrs work over 3 days. Just tried to pour every practical bit of info I know about streaming into a guide. I know it looks long, but trust me, if you want a great looking stream that doesn't rape your FPS, this is like the super-abridged tl;dr version.

Let me know what you think.

#8 VanillaTV NA-friendly restreams in TF2 General Discussion

So now that we've got our back queue of about ~20 casts now up on youtube and sorted, I've been looking into this seriously.

The plan would be "the VanillaTV 7/11 restream". Bassically we restream a match at 7pm CST, and 11pm CST, to catch casual viewers at 7 and any of you who fancy watching it after scrims at 11. How does that sound?

#1 VanillaTV NA-friendly restreams in TF2 General Discussion

Hey guys,

So we've been going through a process of just streamlining and improving our video pipeline recently for how we do production over at VanillaTV, and one of the things that's come up as a possibility is the ability to restream any cast we do at NA-friendly times.

So say we do a 1 - 1.5hr cast starting at usually around 9pm CEST (which is 2pm CST), obviously almost none of you on the other side of the pond will be able to watch it because of school/work/etc. If we were to restream the vod at say 9pm CST, would any of you be interested in that? If so what sort of time do you think would be best?

It's just an idea I had. Wouldn't be too difficult to do, so I guess if a few of you would enjoy it its worth doing.

#6 Lansky's Xsplit/Dxtory Streaming Guide in News

Fucking awesome guide man. The only nitpick I'd make is that a couple of the specifcs in dxtory aren't quite right. Mainly that you want to set the res to what you plan on streaming at, not what you play at (dxtory munches less CPU converting to a lower res than xsplit) and you don't need to do any of the video codec/audio stuff unless you plan to record within dxtory, but otherwise it's sick.

#26 dreamhack in TF2 General Discussion

Dreamhack is THE event to get TF2 exposure. I would 100% help and endorse it just as much if it was a LAN in the US, but it's not because it's EU, it's because it's Dreamhack.

TF2 is getting crazy big. Even by esports standards. While our viewership isn't that impressive compared to SC2, LoL, or Dota 2, is stonkingly massive compared to everything else in esports. If we could pull 10k+ for Dreamhack (which honestly 6 months from now and with a little advertising help from Dreamhack is probably quite conservative), it will be completely renew interest in the game from sponsors and leagues.

We aren't going to do a community fundraiser. If this happens, it'll be through sponsors. If you guys over on that side of the pond want to try and do a fundraiser or help out getting a team over, I personally and Vanilla will support it 100%, but right now I think we're going to struggle to get the top euro teams (other than Epsilon) as it is.

Myself and Sal will ofc be reading this thread. If you guys have any questions or suggestions, just post them here and I promise they'll be seen.

No Scotland option in the country list. What kind of racist site is this?

Also nice job on the performance. The whole thing is super fucking fast.
