Is 500fps constant possible in TF2

i hit 500 in pregame with very few players on the server though i cap it at 500 since much more bugs the game out in listen servers
viperafaik, the best possible performance for tf2 cpu wise really comes down to clock rate because tf2 doesn't properly take advantage of multiple cores
im fairly sure that modern processors are well beyond the performance for which tf2 scales well, if you had a cpu that could decode, fetch registers, execute instructions and writeback to registers 'instantly' (that wording doesn't really make sense in practice but you get what i mean) then the game wouldn't get that much more frames than it would now
