nickplusbscthis fucking screenshot again, I still dont understand what it meansI had teamfortress.tv on my steam profile and some trader ask me what it was, i told him about comp tf2 and everything and he read a thread about ruwin and thought comp tf2 was worse than pubs.
can you please explain to me your thought process (if possible??)
I explained to him it doesn't happen often but every time one of these shit threads is started new people might be driven away, the environment and drama is too fucking toxic.(am i using that word right?)
This happens in EVERY gaming community, dota2 had someone stealing money from a charity drive for sick kids. This is pretty small in comparison.
One thing I mention often on my stream is the content that's available to new players now to drag them in to comp.
This mainly applies to the EU scene in some way though.
Before TF2 went F2P we had a good amount of content freely available to people, we had MGE VODS and the site in general, we had cadred for EU, Vanillatf2 was buzzing with articles and their vanilla insights, various podcast shows that would go on. In terms of casts we had a lot of people available, often having two games casted in one night.
Now we have a gigantic influx of new players where has this content gone? Vanillatf2 is dead, we've lost news article sites to some extent, there is a big short of learning resources for new players, yes, streams are a lot more popular but there isn't many places for organised content in one place.
We need to get smarter in how we get competitive TF2 across to people, I'm hoping that the fully charged EU reboot is something that will rekindle some interest for TF2 again.
The main positive thing from this is that the casting resources is really fucking impressive, logs.tf and ss. is really really making a change for us.
bearodactylCould someone enlighten me as how there are movies that are anything more than frags with music? Like can they have intricate plot lines or something? Or does that just mean edited to make the frags and music flow together or something?
A video that is 4 minutes of frags with an fps config, HUD and just some music put over it shouldnt be there.
Something that actually shows effort in terms of editing and quality should.
Is there going to be some sort of standard set to what can be submitted, I can already see some pretty poor "frag movies" that are just really frags with music over the top.
I don't think there's actually a need for an org though, let's be honest we can provide our own servers through serveme.tf now, and LANs don't happen enough any more for there to be a point on approaching them.
For orgs to be interested there needs to be a team that is truley interested in progressing and have ambition, you're also forgetting that there is AWS, TLR, GG.WWPRO and fenneks in prem as well as Epsilon. TCM would have maybe joined in if TSE had taken 2nd in S16. So there is actually interested parties but I also believe that orgs not being really relied on any more is a key factor.
That's very true, but you can't say these teams can't do it if it has never been attempted.
Ok, now I'm not on my phone.
EU TF2 isn't dead, but the players ambition certainly is, in S16 I was wondering what it would be like if Epsi folded and split themselves in to a few other teams, it would be good but then what is the point in that? It's just a cop out and doesn't get us anywhere.
We need people to actually have some ambition, when they make a team they need to think "can we compete with Epsilon?" if no, why?
Let's say with the two remaining from MiG, you have Kaidus and Smzi, Smzi is one of if not the best scout in Europe right now, and kaidus is still the best demo out there.
Add that with Merilin, Zebbo, Kalho, Kiler and you tell me that team can't compete with Epsilon.
Bonus rounds: Bulle, Ryb, Natural, T-Mac, Beavern, GF18
TLR Reform: Merilin, HYS, Zebbo, Kalho, Kiler, Rake
Featuring noobs: Bulle, Ryb, Kaptain, Tek, HerrP, Beavern
And I ain't even trying. The only thing that is stopping teams like these forming is peoples drive to actually win.
kaidus TLR is considering quitting, byte is done so it's 2/6. Even if what you described happened (it wouldn't in a million years), those teams would simply fight it out for 2nd place which is pretty dire for anyone interested in watching.
Merilin, zebbo, You, beavern, wltrs, smzi, shadowburn, natural, Kal fucking ho, t-mac, tek, bullet, ryb.
There is a massive list of amazing players that can be the best I know it doesn't just work like that and stuff, but some of these players are massively carrying their teams and could do a lot better.
kaidusI'd be curious to know if they even made sure an american team was actually going to go to i52 first. If not this is going to completely backfire and kill whatever's left of eu tf2.
EU should make a super team, everyone at the moment is to keen on their all nationality teams instead of making teams to actually win.
If Knoxxx leaves TLR and you add in Zebbosai, you still get a stable top team and you can do this with others as well. As MIG lost bash, gear and mike you can still add good people from other teams to replace them, you'll fold a few in the process but EU TF2 have another team to compete.
not only that the shit talk was also reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally fucking awkward and terrible as well.
i'm pretty sure almost none of it made sense.
unless smzi is polish
One thing I'd like to mention, something I wrote in the etf2l match post and a lot of comments about the shit talking at the end of the match...
"The problem was down to myself and commanders end, we knew there would be shit talk and were promoting it and drawing more attention to it so I apologize. It would have been a better idea to bring them in separately so it ends on a more lighter and constructive note."
So yeah, I'm sorry if people were not pleased with the final moments, with hindsight it was pretty poor from us and we should have tried to keep it professional.
Yeah, tftv need more chat moderators, this is the third time now where there has been spam and just a splew of shit coming from the chat.
Get hyped boys. Gonna get a shirt and tie going.
We are going full esports tonight
