#4 I52 travel help (euros!) in LAN Discussion

I'm sure the tube ticket from Heathrow to Euston can be bought from the machines at the Heathrow tube station, although you may want to buy an Oyster card instead of a paper ticket if you plan to make more journeys on the underground later on.

That means you can use the ticket machines at Euston for the journey to Coventry, which will be a separate ticket.

So basically I would just book the ticket from Euston to Coventry in advance, since Heathrow to Euston is easily bought on the day.

atmoSo is it worth watching last night's VODs or were all the games unplayable?

Granary vs AwS was okay. Probably still some lag spikes for iM, but it seemed mostly okay.

#71 Anybody like heavy music? in Off Topic
ExquisiteStoneI don't like Heavy Metal because I feel it is the opposite of what I like to do when listening to music, to relax.

I don't need to hear some satanic screaming about death, and how "angry" I should be at the rest of the world, or sad.
The genre seems to me as an outsider, very aggressive (not that you'll become aggressive of it) and also very depressing. The artist cover themselves in Tattoos of Skulls, and wear dark clothes. It's indeed really childish to me, again, as an outsider.

Satanic lyrics are only really used by certain black and death metal bands. I would say the main lyrical themes for metal, at least in the metal I listen to, are mythology & fantasy, war & history, and even science & science fiction.

#154 milk in Off Topic
h3ll0duckyWhole milk for the win. Whole milk can be anywhere from what, 3%-5 (ish)% fat? In my personal opinion, I think it's worth buying whole milk, and then watering it down on your own. Where I live, skim, 1%, 2% and whole milk are all the same price, so I just buy whole milk to get my money's worth.

Pls tell me someone else does this.

But reduced fat milk is not watered down milk, it's milk with the fat skimmed off. It actually has slightly more protein than the full fat version, whereas in your version everything is watered down.

downpournaw mason you dont get it, after hours and hours of anime we've developed "superhuman" reflexes and can click at LEAST 67 times per second.
shit gets pretty intense man.

The problem is that you're comparing the time which M1 was registered as depressed, to the average time between separate clicks. These are totally different things.

I have no interest in defending this guy and think he's probably cheating, but I don't think the argument being used here is completely valid.

#48 i52 LAN Fundraiser in News
Oblivionageyay i hope this lan has a mix between the previous i series lans. i46 had 2 american team final, i49 had 2 european team final. i hope this one it's europe vs. NA :D i hope we reach the deadline though

I think there's a decent chance, but history tells us that when one scene produces a truly great team (i46 mix^, i49 epsilon) then the next best team from that scene follows closely behind and makes the final.

GetawhaleI didn't feel like it would be the best idea to solo cast this.. that doesn't usually make for the best casts. When there are two casters, you can banter, you can talk about different opinions, you can each bring up different topics, and you can play off one another.. but with one caster, there tends to be a lot more silence and it tends to be less interesting for the viewer.

Plus nobody wants to listen to me talk to myself for an hour and a half :P

For what it's worth, I think you could pull off a solo cast. Completely understandable you don't want to though.

#27 milk in Off Topic
pharaoh__Milk is a big scam. Milk in general doesn't have much of a health benefit unless you're a cow. There's little to no solid evidence that milk is beneficial for bones, or your health in any way. It's regarded as the healthy option for schools, yet it generally has more sugar and is higher in fat than coke.

That's only true if you take the artificially sweetened version of coke, otherwise the coke has more sugar (10g vs 5g per 100ml). In any case, the sugar in milk is lactose as opposed to refined high fructose corn syrup or sucrose, and it has a low glycemix index.

The fat in milk is not bad for you in moderation, and you even have a choice of which fat content to buy. In 1% fat milk, 20% of its calories come from fat, which is really the minimum amount to get the recommended ratio of fats to calories in a typical adult diet.

Milk is also a good source of protein, containing all the essential amino acids.

I could type up a list of all the vitamins and minerals milk has the a coke or soda doesn't, but I think I've said enough.
