Hi everyone it's me, grape juice, coming back at you with another frag video pet peeves + fixes thread.
It's no secret that every time Valve updates their favourite map, cp_snakewater_final1, they do not update the suffix at the end of the name. this results in different assets attempting to be loaded when playing demo files where the version of snakewater in the tf/maps folder does not match the version that was played on during the time of the demo, and in return an epic tf2 moment happen where random assets kinda appear in random areas of the map.
to fix this, all you need to do is put in the OLD version of the map, with the same name (cp_snakewater_final1), and it will work like a charm. if you accidentally put in the wrong version, you can just swap in what you think might be the correct version, and try again. you dont need to worry about restarting your game
I have compiled a list of all previous versions of cp_snakewater_final1 dating back to the one before the 2018 map update (which i think goes back to like May or June of 2016, when they turned the trains on 2nd from boxes into logs)
you can find the archive HERE, sorted by date when that version of the map became broken.
If you can put in the effort to use a max graphics config for your frag videos, you can put in the effort to swap an old map out for a new one. thats not a request, thats a statement.
thank you for reading the grape juice frag video pet peeves thread
tibby[b4nny] received positive testimony from previous teammates of his
i wasnt planning on posting in this thread itself but since my name has been brought up as a hubida vouch i guess i'll repost what i said on twitter about it yesterday, without character limits getting in the way:
"Since I’ve had like 5 people ask me personally about hubida I may as well just put shit out here for anyone else who may be curious: I had 0 issues with hubida all of last season. When I initially joined the covenant partway through last season I was very cautious of him as a person and a teammate but from week 3 through to grand finals I can confidently say that he behaved identically to any other teammate I’ve ever had.
In a team full of “villains” as some people called it, this would be an environment where his toxic behaviour would be ENABLED, and it never came out of him. On the contrary, i think drp was truly a terrible person and teammate, and would constantly berate hubida, calling him a retard and to kill himself pretty much on a nightly basis - and hubida never stooped to his level. not once all season. He took the abuse like a champion. As a team we would clown on him for his match comms meltdown and he took that like a champion too.
I think to continue being on guard of hubida is 100% justified behaviour, however hopefully you can take my vouch and trust that he is capable of being a normal human like everyone else in this community."
Zestyheavy frags are actually the coolest to watch btw
caboose's heavy video is unironically one of the most entertaining tf2 videos ive ever seen
when i was a teenager my mom made me pay for my ESEA league fees + 3 months of premium, and if a teammate needed theirs paid i would spot them too, i only made like 40 (canadian) dollars a weekend as a hockey referee. with RGL's fees being like 1/2 of what ESEA's fees were, in my opinion, it really is a trivial amount of money that also gets reinvested back into the community via prizepools and (as of recent), LANs.
thank you dave2 from dave gameing eSports and muffler repair
last call for ticks!
I will be making the video this weekend so if you hit a sick shot on a medic please submit! the video will be faithful to the original Medics Getting Airshot For 90 Seconds as such I will likely have to cut a lot of shots, so no hard feelings if your clip isn't used, just trying to get the best possible stuff in here.
thank you all for submitting.
been trying for seasons to play on a team with dunker and when the time finally came I was not disappointed
a feat of creativity. unironically well produced.
edit: just looked at this guys channel and its his whole gimmick. so look at his other stuff too i guess
