flatlineAre stats not updating at all? I've played like five lobbies in two days and have yet to see anything change.

Thanks for the heads up, this seems to have been a heisenbug as it started working when I looked at it. It's correcting itself now, should be up to date relatively soon but there's quite a lot to process so expect some wild variations in the immediate future. Probably be a few hours to process everything that's missing

Addressed the heals/damage per minute problem a bit. Things may still appear a little odd if a player's sample size is small as they may have been in a particularly aggressive of passive handful of lobbies that distort things.

Also about 100 people have updated their name since the ability to change it went live.

You can now login via steam and update your name! It’s a bit of a rush job but it should help anyone who’s not happy with what they’re currently called on the site. There will probably be a bit of lag between the update and your name changing in the ranking lists. It seems to be working for people but if you get any problems let me know.

Xalox has just popped up into 2nd place in the Demoman ranking with a relatively modest DPM and KD. The reason he wasn't there before is that he's only just got the qualifying number of logs to have a trustworthy rank.

The quantity of participation will probably be a problem for NA players, but only because they may not get enough entries on logs.tf to get a rank.

No, time participated is always recorded regardless of extended stats plugins.

deszaAnd it was mentioned before that heals per minute is an important statistic for med (which you need the medic stats plugin for), so what's the point of counting med logs that don't include healing?

This is a matter of opinion, of course I wont be going into any detail of how these specifics work.

It does, but it doesn't skew the ratings, time participating is taken into account.

Yes but this isn't a problem, the only people the rating compares you against are the other players in that log.

deszaHonestly for consistency, these rankings should only pull from logs with all of the appropriate plugins (sup, med, etc...). It might be a hassle to make this happen, but it must be possible. I'm sure zooob or F2 could help you figure out a way to filter those.

It really doesn't make sense to have a mixture of both.

Sorry for not making this clearer, it's obviously a design challenge for me to meet, but I'll state it as clearly as I can. If you are in a game/log with no damage the only people that affects you against are the other people in the same game/log who also have no damage. It has no effect on comparing you with the wider group. Having no damage in a log does not put you at a disadvantage against the wider field.

No problem at all, it's in beta for a reason :)

The issue Mustard Overlord is speculating about wouldn't manifest itself entirely in the way he suggests, but if there are areas between NA and EU stats that I measure which aren't available with the same consistency then it would be more likely to produce an imbalance between classes rather than an overall detriment to the continent as a whole.

VortexI'm a little confused. Are you saying that the overall DPM on the stats page isn't accurate but you have a "true" DPM you use as a part of ranking? It's obvious at a glance from the stats page that damage plays a large role in your ranking, at least as scout/soldier/demo.

No, the rating isn't based on an accumulation of stats, it's a moving target most strongly influenced by your recent performances, who those performances were against and specific metrics in those games that I've identified as being of relevance to player skill (i.e. winning). You could pile up impressive stats but if they're exclusively against scrubs don't expect to hit a top rating.

If there's no damage in a particular log, then damage isn't a factor in that log. Is damage a factor in any ranking decisions from any log? Maybe. Would missing damage skew ranks? Maybe, but there's only so much I can do about that.

The DPM/damage you see in the summary is your total damage/your total time on that class. I would need to identify and filter out 0 damage logs from that total time. Database performance is an issue when you're dealing with million of rows of data, so at the moment I don't. But it doesn't affect rankings.
