marmadukeGRYLLSCEVOPipherstuffAH i remember now i think. pretty sure there was blatant cheaters that took a while to get banned and an admin was on the roster and defending them or something. this was like ~7 years ago so im really foggy on the memory, could be totally wrong/misremembering.

Well at least whoever that person was, was considered innocent until proven guilty.

Also would like to say after having worked with CEVO for a short time during the early summer for CEVO HL (which I think is dead atm) CEVO will take TF2 6s & HL seriously if they get enough people to sign up. They will be more than accommodating to what the TF2 community wants/needs. I have literally nothing but Positive things to say about CEVO based on my experience with them.

#8 Choppy Monitor at 75hz in Hardware
LionxSo I recently found out that my monitor can support up to 75hz. I've heard that there is a notable difference between 75 and 60 so I thought I'd switch. As soon as I did that, mouse movements, and anything on-screen seems choppy. If I load up TF2, I get 60+ FPS but I notice that the game is choppy. Is this a sign that I should get new hardware or are there more setting that I need to change so my monitor stops being choppy?

So this could be a variety of things

1. You're not getting 75+fps

2. Your monitor does not Support 75Hz at your current resolution and or cable. Most 75Hz monitors only do 75Hz with VGA cable at or below 1440 x 900.

3. Perhaps you forgot to restart your PC, I have had some Video Card issues in the past if I didn't restart my PC after changing Refresh rates. Though that shouldn't happen, it did for me and might be happening for you.

btw the difference between 75Hz and 60Hz isn't as huge as you might think, I remember when I switch my monitor from 60Hz to 75Hz I actually completely forgot about it and the next day I was like "Did valve patch the game things seem a bit smoother." It wasn't a big difference but was noticeable, but only barely.

LionxJust in case I get a 120hz, are there any computer specs that are needed to run it? I have a fairly old comp so I just want to be sure.

You're going to need a system that can easily do 120fps+, 160+ to be on the safe side. You'll also need a Video Card with a DVI-I slot (basically any modern video card, and even a lot of the older ones)

#38 FROM ENGIE WITH LOVE in TF2 General Discussion
SoapUh, you guys I think took it wrong. i was pointing out that blunderful came up more than other teams and represented a plurality. Not that blunderful is bad...

Granted, I didn't watch the video and count up each specific frag and then tally. ah well, you guys got me.

technically still bfl didn't represent a plurality, they tied with 20b.

#36 FROM ENGIE WITH LOVE in TF2 General Discussion
SoapFunny that half the frags are against a blunderful player on various maps. Great video sigafoo!

2 Frags - Some Euro team on cp_steel
4 Frags - bfl on koth_lakeside
1 Frag - mTs Lightoff on pl_barnblitz from what is probably a pug
4 Frags - 20b on cp_granary
4 Frags + Cap - Pug on cp_gullywash
3 Frags - Ginyu! on cp_gullywash
1 Frag - bfl penguininja on cp_granary
1 Frag - Ginyu! Overseer on koth_lakeside
1 Frag - 20b Misskay on cp_granary
2 Frags + Amazing Sentry Save - Team France pl_barnblitz

Total Frags = 23
% of frags on
bfl = 21.7%
20b = 21.7%
Ginyu = 17.4%
Other = 39.2%

infact frags on bfl players was limited to 2 clips on 2 maps.
Soap = Master of Details lol nevermind guess not.

#2 Poor Framerate with DX9 Fire in Q/A Help

Bump, seriously I really would like to run this game in DX 9, so I can update my drivers for my laptop GPU (you have to use seriously outdated drivers to get DX 8.1 to not have a strobe effect for Nvidia cards).

#1 Poor Framerate with DX9 Fire in Q/A Help

Ok, so I am having a problem with Fire in DX 9 (-dxlevel 90 and above)

Specifics
-Players at range on fire; minimal fps hit
-1 Player within Melee Range on fire +regular number of pub players not on fire; I drop from 110ish frames to 80ish
-2 Players within Melee Range on fire +regular number of pub players not on fire; I drop from 110ish frames to 55ish.
-1 Player right ontop of me (Same team) while on fire, regardless of number of other players; I drop from 120ish frames to 40ish.

This problem doesn't occur in DX 8.1 even with the same config.

Things I've tried:
-Restarting
-Updating Drivers
-Trying multiple DX 9 levels (dxlevel, 90, 91, 95, 98)
-Trying multiple configs, MaxQuality, Dx9Frames, MaxFrames, a Custom 1 I built
-Trying multiple Systems
-Changing individual commands

    mat_reduceparticles
    mat_reducefillrate
    mat_parallaxmap
    mat_picmip
    mat_forceaniso
    mat_filtertextures
    mat_specular
    r_threaded_particles
-Commands that I knew shouldn't change it but tried anyway-
    mat_aaquality
    mat_antialias
    mat_hdr_level
    mat_trilinear

System 1: (This is the main system I used for FPS numbers)
CPU: i7-2630QM @ 2.0GHz
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600
GPU: GTX 540m 1GB GDDR3
(yes it's a laptop, and yes I have fixed my power settings)

System 2:
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 940 @ 3.2GHz
RAM: 6GB DDR2 1066
GPU: Sapphire HD 6670 1GB

Does anyone know of a fix for this?
-edit-
only fix is to run in dx 8

Fzero-snip-

Oh shit!! That's fucking great. The "system" or lack of a system was really stupid

Yeah, that game has improved a lot would be a shame if people stopped playing it. The idea for this game is just so amazing.

I guess I had a vastly different experience than alot of other players did. I played with an outfit called Hayabusa, and we usually did 1-2 Squads and fought just ahead of the Zerg or in the places the Zerg just wouldn't end up at or couldn't deal with properly. We would regularly go up against Platoon size outfits and it was awesome.

FzeroI was playing that since Alpha launch, b/c I still had my PS1 account active, and stayed until and little after live launch. I REALLY tried to enjoy the game since I loved PS1 and during the alpha and beta you didn't have to pay for any of the stuff which made the game a lot more fun, but still not very good. I kept trying for about a week and it just became so boring, so quickly

They changed the game alot, the big one being they readded the Lattice System from PS1. You might like the game more now.

kirbyI'm lone wolfing it right now just to somewhat test it out. I've noticed a lack of players on the other team so far, but I'm probably in the wrong regions regardless if not owned by my empire, I guess.

So far overall, not too shabby. Not enough play time to say anything though. As for FPS, I get fine FPS (not sure what I get, is there a counter?); feels smooth.

hit ALT + F and in the bottom left you can see a counter, hit ALT again to be able to look around again.

mghughlaurieonly took me 183 hours to get good enough to where sonys absolutely retarded anti cheat admins banned me for cheating, 3 accounts banned in total. i had $65 of cosmetic shit/guns and earned 18000 certs gone down the drain. i still got have 3 accounts that i play on that haven't been banned yet.

pretty sure their anticheat admins don't even spec you and just ban you based on your killstreaks and how many shitlords report you.

Was going to make a post about a dude that's been cheating for nearly a full year on their Mattherson and still hasn't been banned. Found it he was banned about 2 weeks ago

NivX (seriously this dude was off the charts, he had a KPM as Infantry that made even the Best Pilots and Tankers seem worthless)

drakHowever: The gameplay itself is clunky. You won't go above 60fps, your aim will not be smooth, and the hitscan itself is shoddy as well (as one would expect with such a large battlefield).

It's perfectly possible to get over 60 FPS in Planetside 2 you just need a beast for a PC to do it (or simply look at the ground in a low pop area). Their's a setting called "Reduced Input Lag" you'll usually get slightly lower FPS because of it but your aim becomes smoother. Finally, their is no such thing as Hitscan in Planetside 2 ALL bullets, lasers, and rockets are projectiles most of which have drop. actually melee might be hitscan but that would be about it.

an i5 @ stock settings whether it's Sandy/Ivy/Haswell, a GTX 660/HD7850, should get over 60fps @1080p with the lowest settings in most battles.
