I'm alright vs sollies but I suck against scouts. Used to just stay further back in 1v1s and rely on aim but now im against people who are all equal or better than me so it isn't working. Any advice on vs either class is appreciated.

aside from the obvious "don't take 1v1's" in my experience when fighting a scout by yourself when both of you have no heals, it comes down to whoever hits the first good chunk of damage. once you do 60+ to a scout, depending on the distance from you to him you can chip or decide if its even a fight worth taking. if both of you are full hp, and you hit a few chips for good damage you can hold S so that you don't have to hit hard shots, and can just chip him down. if the most damage possible to hit on a scout is 20 damage, its the same for him as well, and if you have 100 hp and he has 60, all you need to do is hold back. on the other hand, if you get chipped for good damage first you have to not let him play the distance and chip you down even more, you'll need to try and close the distance, or escape.

if its a situation where you have to rush him, like he's backcapping,or you're trying to get behind yourself, you have a pretty big disadvantage. all you can do is try to adad spam as you close distance and try to hit shots, and he knows you have to move forward to block the point, so its easier for him to predict your movement.

typically you want to try to not get into situations where its a mge situation and you're both just spamming adad by yourselves, because that is very inconsistent. but if you're low on hp, or the other dude has a medic healing him, your best bet is to rush into him and try to hit 2 meatshots, assuming theres no chance of you getting away.

the best way to win 1v1's is to play far enough away that if you need to run away, you can do so safely, then call for a teammate to come help you and make it into a 1v2. if you can't get help, and you can't escape, then rushing into people when they least expect it gives you a chance to catch them off guard and get a kill.

another thing you can try is the turn and burn, where if you're losing a 1v1, run away and try to bait the guy into chasing you. once you round a corner, turn around and pre-aim the corner he's going to cross, then try to meatshot him down because he won't expect you to be taking that fight (unless you telegraph it)

its very situational and relies a lot on the distance between you and the other scout. if you round a corner and he's in your face, you just have to hit your shots and hope he misses his. but if someone is actively trying to fight you 1v1, call for a teammate and play far enough back that he can't kill you, and then once it becomes a 1v2 you can be more aggressive.

running away in an even hp situation usually results in a loss, unless you can fully escape. most scouts will chase you hard if they think they can finish you off.

play people better than u in mge scout v scout go on like og ammomod on ohiguv or just bland mid and ull improve at it. learn 2 mirror movement and learn different aiming techniques. a lot of better scouts will just jump into open players and it works lol. pay attention to stuff like that and youll eventually crush. its just practice

Mirroring movement isn't movement that's hard to hit; in fact, it's generally a lot easier to kill people who try to mirror exclusively. however, you want to mirror somebody's movement to make it easier for you to hit your own shots. It's situational. movement that makes it hard for the other scout to meatshot you is sort of the opposite of mirroring, where you just make sure they're in the middle of your screen.

edit: this is obviously all situational, but it's good when learning to try to follow a guideline and see what works for you

scout vs scout is just about the most aids thing you can experience in any video game. if you are having a lot of scout 1v1s in a scrim or match and you keep getting owned, switch to pyro or spy and hope for a few lucky facestabs

Circlestrafing works fairly well against people that adadadad. You just do a little 90 degree strafe around them (while throwing in some adad of your own) so that they're not strafing from left to right on your screen, but forward-backwards which makes it a lot easier to hit a good shot on them (of course, this is only a small window because if they're not dumb they'll adjust their strafes to be left-right from your perspective rather quickly, but it's still usually enough time for you to hit an easy shot)

you ask the entire enemy team what's their sens and if their sens is very very low then u just strafe around them in circles and annoy them

I usually miss every shot and then jump randomly like a retard whilst shouting 'save me' to my team.

Sometimes they do, tbf.

Try think about what you find difficult to hit when other scouts do it. I think that makes logical, intuitive sense right?

vs scouts(if ur both full hp) get close, meatshot them and then backup and finish them; if you're better than them, stay mid range and outaim them, in my opinion you should almost never risk getting meatshot by some shitty scout when u can win the midrange all day. By the same token, if you are the shitty scout(relatively speaking) then your whole goal in a scout 1v1 is get close, move unpredictably, and try to get that one shot that wins you the fight.

vs soldier, make them miss while u tag them from midrange and jump in and finish them when they reload

Movement is quite important in scout 1v1, but at the end of the day the winner will be the person who hits their shots.
A lot of the time it's effective to keep your crosshair relatively still, mainly using your side to side movement to aim and have the scout almost float into your crosshair. This is useful when the enemy is making similar movements. Of course this doesn't mean you shouldn't move your mouse at all.

When dodging, I've usually found the best way to be a mixture of pressing adadad very fast, whilst changing direction at roughly the speed that a scattergun shoots. This is most easily done by timing your shots with your changes in Direction. Incorporating standing still + jumping helps to make your movement even more unpredictable.

Also, as previously mentioned, when you're on top of a 1v1 i.e. you've hit more damage so far, it's a very good tactic to start holding S a little bit. Holding a 1v1 at medium range is so good if you're confident you can hit finish off the enemy with mid range shots. This is because it makes it a lot harder for them to damage you quickly (with more than 60 damage shots), giving you time to secure the kill.

Also make sure you're buffed
