Following the sudden growth of TF2, caused by both the on-going matchmaking development and (hopefully increasing) inclusion of Twitch streamed content, an initiative has been taken by Publiclir.se to further support TF2’s competitive future.
We will be launching a group with the intention to provide a comfortable environment for newcomers, including both available game and VoIP servers (Mumble), alongside pre-planned in-house 6v6 games and mixes with experienced players.
Rather than functioning as a service, we aim to provide the assistance required to smoothen the transition between being a competitive newcomer and a capable player. This includes answering questions, demo reviews, team mentoring and so on.
One of the biggest impressions a new player receives of competitive TF2 is their first match. If we want newcomers to stick around, a lobby of varying degrees of communication and skill doesn’t represent the real deal, and thus our main goal is to provide a safe playing environment alongside other beginners. We believe that a larger portion of curious players will stay interested if they’re given a reasonable representation of a real match, rather than having to imagine what a real match would be like, based on keybind spam and sniper mains in a lobby.
Sales speech aside, following the success of NA newbie mixes we plan to launch the European equivalent. Matchmaking will definitely make it easier for people to get used to the 6v6 format, but metagame and map calls won’t come by itself.
We will start out with 6/12s mixes (as participants allows) announced through the Steam group, and eventually assist ‘pro’-less teams of 6 in finding matches to play on their own.
This is a new initiative and we will gladly accept both volunteers and additional support offered. We have (more than) enough servers as of right now, so we’re mostly lacking manpower and new players.

Fantastic news, I've wanted an EU newbie mixes for a long time (and thought about starting it myself) and we've finally got one with a sponsor backing it! Trés bien.
