Sorry for making another thread on this again. But i can't seem to find the other thread talking about this. I am planning to buy a nice mechanical keyboard this Christmas, and I was wondering if anyone has an recommendations. i want more of a custom keyboard, not just an all black one. i know i can add caps but i don't know what keyboard, company etc.. i should use as a base.
thanks
thanks
Cooler Master makes surprisingly nice affordable ones, if you can tolerate the logos. Personally I never cared about them but if you're a whiny pussy you might want to avoid CM.
what ndust said. the CM mechs are great and I'm not sure if you can get unmarked ones anymore but when I bought mine off of amazon it had no logos on it or anything

Decide which type of keyswitches you want.
Look here to see them explained - http://www.overclock.net/t/491752/mechanical-keyboard-guide
I suggest reds or blacks.
Reds: Linear movement, Very light, good for gaming.
Blacks: Linear movement, Heavy, good for gaming.
Browns: Click-action (you feel a click when you depress the key all the way), a middle ground of being good for gaming and typing.
Blues: Click-action, Good for typing, bad for gaming...(stay away from blues).

I have a blues keyboard, i think its fine for gaming. I only got it over browns because i liked the clickiness, but thats all personal preference.
Some good brands are Leopold, Das Keyboard, Filco, CM Storm (kinda meh imho), and Ducky.
CM Storm keyboards are built by the same oem that does Filco keyboards, and are of the same quality.
CM Storm KBs are also a lot more affordable.
Only con with them is the ugly keycap font (preference), and the logos (preference).

Newer batches don't have branding.

Banaynaylove the -frag for asking a question
most likely it is because you posted in the wrong section...there have been loads of threads on mech kb's in the 'hardware' subforum
and I wouldnt worry too much about the -frags, people on this forum tend to have a hivemind mentality and -frag if they see the post has already been -frag'd
edit - fucking lol'd @ whoever -frag'd this post
bunch of beta faggots
keep 'em coming, queerbaits
