Just had a guy send me a request to add another guy on steam, which turned out to be a fake steam url which asked me to log on and to upload a certain file from steam folder (me thinking it's a new feature because steamguard never works properly) I instantly tried to change my pw, but it was too late. Pw changed by them, gained control and changed email address. Contacted steam support. What can I do to stop anything. Block my acc? I googled but can't find an answer. Is it even possible? will any lost things be renewed by valve?

How much exactly should I be giving that is safe? I assume just the number of the card? and what if I used different cards?

I wouldn't provide any information it doesn't ask you to provide. I'm just saying they will probably want that information so have it ready.

Right, thanks for your help. Do you happen to know anything about retrieving lost items/games/anything else?

If you had SteamGuard enabled, they can't trade for 7 days which gives you time to get your account back. Someone just hijacked my account last week, out of nowhere. Submit a ticket today, it took them 5 days to get back to me (assuming it's related to the high #s of support tickets warning on their page)

I don't understand this logic. I had steamguard on, and I could trade. If steam thinks that person is the owner, how will it stop them from trading?

SteamGuard will recognize that the account is being logged into on a new computer and will disable trading for 7 days.

Does this apply for steam gifts? I had a couple of games in my item inventory

I bet it does. If it doesn't, who would be stupid enough to send gifts to their account from a hijacked account.
