Cherry G80-3000 is the cheapest.
Build quality is just ok, switches are great though, comes in blues blacks reds and clears. It's an enterprise model so it won't be advertised as mechanical keyboard directly but it is. Look up the specific model numbers on their website.

My mechanical keyboard that i'm absolutely in love with, saves a lot of space for more mouse area and the keys are beautifully done. If you shop around you can probably find it closer to $50. I paid like $110 for it at the time but it was as good of an investment as my BenQ XT2420T.

Red switches only. You can probably find it under $50 if you look hard enough. No numberpad makes for very small footprint.

Pretty much violates his only condition if he can't find it 50$ less than what you posted.

Pretty much violates his only condition...

it goes on sale pretty often for $60

finding a mechanical keyboard consistently priced at $50 is impossible, $60 is the cheapest i've ever seen one go and that's the QFR

I've bought a brand new, well built mechanical keyboard for $30. Locally produced, though.

Last I saw Rosewill had some really cheap blues on newegg, although I'm not sure that it was a sale or not, worth a look if you ask me. I have never had any problems with my Rosewill and I doubt you would either unless you hit you keyboard or you carry it around and drop it.

I think that ALPS switches are the cheapest you can get, but Newegg had a deal on the K60 this morning , from $90 down to $65, and then a mail-in rebate for $10.
