Help with choosing a new mouse

So I've finally decided to switch from my old crappy logitech desktop mouse but I'm not exactly sure what I should take into account.

I guess I'm looking for something with a decent dpi, something that won't break easily, something that is wired and something that is not too heavy too (I aim with my wrist and I plan on not breaking it)

Is there any clear advantage of a laser mouse over an optical mouse if the optical mouse has a high enough dpi?

Are there some good brands that I should just stay with to avoid trouble? The new S series from Logitech? I'm kind of lost even at that, which of those mice are designed for what... Any guidelines would be hugely helpful

i loved the intellimouse, but ive been told that the zowie ec2, deathadder, and senseis are really good. Chances are you wont use a high dpi setting on a mouse (mine is up to 5600 and I use 800 for dota) but i would advise staying away from logitech products, theyre like razer they ARE good quality, but for the price you can get something else probably better

Out of them I would recommend the zowie, unless you are fine spending the $20 or so more for a sensei.

chord - three or more musical tones sounded simultaneously

cord - a long slender flexible material usually consisting of several strands (as of thread or yarn) woven or twisted together

^_^ Deathadders Break Eventually, I'm on my third. But the performance is really good.

Problem with the Zowie AM, at least when I bought my G400, was that it was twice the price.

if you dont see yourself laning anytime soon, get an intellimouse 1.1/3.0/wmo and overclock it to 500 or 1000hz

Deathadder

To reiterate what people said, it wears after a while, but that's a small price to pay for such a good mouse. I had to order a new one last month after two years of heavy usage. Would recommend.

If you're wondering about the zowie fk over am, having tried both i would still recommend the am. it's preference, but i honestly dont think the modifications were that necessary.

renxzenLogitech G400
Pros: flawless sensor, light weight, right-handed mouse
Cons: with time the cord fails

Note: When the cord fails you will have to replace the mouse, because it will be unplayable. Logitech was nice about it by replacing the dying g400. I heard they are no longer replacing it. (Thanks dodgecanon)

Just wanted to poke in an say that Logitech is replacing the G400 with the new G400s, at least for the time being.

use the 450 our the 1150 dpi settings. Those are the most stable. Also 500hz polling rate is best on most computers.

I used to have a g400, but it gave out at the connection between the mouse and the cable. It was great while I had it, but I'm really loving the DeathAdder 2013 I got to replace it. Deathadder seems to perform a WHOLE lot better than the g400.

It's all preference dough

I'm actually thinking of drilling some more holes on my Deathadder..

Deathadder Black edition is considerably heavier than the 2013 edition. And fuck warranties.
