most stupid questions can be googled and/or asked on reddit

like my show all threads is already usually clogged up with lfts, a section like this wouldnt be much worse but it's like whatever.

Everyone knows that minus frags mean nothing, but it's pretty disheartening for a new person to post a thread only to see that everyone hates it.

I think it's a half truth to say that -fragging doesn't mean anything.

+/- fragging a post is basically saying "I like/dislike this." If a post gets more than one or two -frags, that essentially speaks for the community as saying "we don't like this post." I don't believe that the +/- Frag system exists just for no reason.

There are some questions like "What's your sensitivity?" that pop up from time to time. Even if the regulars here know that the question is a bit misguided, most of us have probably asked it before.

If we want more people to love TF2, let's not give them shit for asking questions that we just assume everyone should know.

I'd recommend disabling frags on this proposed forum.

Slightly off topic, but I do not see how the sens thread is a type of question exclusive to a new person. Whenever a player is just starting out, he is quickly directed to one of the many "new to comp" guides which invariably will say "sens is all preference; scouts generally do low; medics do high; etc." Therefore, a sens thread is more of a communal thread. It offers personal insight into each player just like the "take a picture of your face" thread. However, unlike the face thread, the sens thread is very shallow as posts generally consist of "#####" sort of like the "original or default" threads. As a communal thread, a sens thread is overall useless.

I still think a newbie board is a good idea, but I don't think that sort of thread should go there.

I'd like to point out that the "what's your sensitivity?" thread (most likely) wasn't -fragged because nobody liked the question, but because there was another thread for it already.
