I dont see the issue in having both logos, and stream it on both channels.

TFTV's coverage has been good when it comes to ESEA and american leagues, but I am dissapointed in their EU coverage. Are you really trying to tell me I should rather be watching Chaplain and Hildreth cast a game than Arx and Beta? Now in the end it comes down to who you like to listen to. But to be blunt i could only expect Arx and Beta to draw the larger crowd between those two duos.

Now. If only the EU coverage was as good as their NA coverage things would change. But the impression I have got is that thats not the case as of the content that is out.

I really dont understand why there is a quarrel between TFTV and VTV. This is neither of yours event. This is multiplays event. Look it from their perspective. In a business perspective I would much rather outsource it to an organisation i have worked with before and has done a good job previously. Therefore VTV. And that is what they did.

Now if TFTV wants to do some content for this lan (Which they should be eager to do) then they have to cooperate with VTV, on VTV's premises. Multiplay outsourced it to VTV, and therefore its VTV's responsible.

I have no idea what happens internally between the two organizations, but calm your tits down and try to sort it out. Trashing eachother on public forums is like the least professional way of doing stuff. (And you are professional arent you?)

Lucky_PierreRussian, why don't you solve all of this and have Blackout TV crush both tf.tv AND vtv with BBC Olympics quality coverage of TF2 :)

That would only happen if we could get Roy Walker and Matt Berry to cast the Grand Final ;)

Coming from somebody who opens both TFTV and VTV streams every time there is a european match on both, with no intentions of watching either, I will not be watching VTVs i49 stream without some semblance of cooperation. As much as I love supporting tf2, when I throw money at an NA team, I want the best casting possible. Which I believe is not possible without at least some help from TFTV.

This thread is a shame to our scene. Horrible decisions, profissionalism and dirty laundering all-around, if you really wanna show the mature and professional casting org you both (and that goes for both vanillatv and tftv) say you are and really contribute towards the development of our scene I suggest you cease this childish discussion and start working towards a singular goal, which is providing the best possible production quality for lan.

Alone or joint forces between both orgs, I really don't care, but lan is coming in August and you got plenty of time to iron out these problems.

This thread could well be in the "Do not do" section of "Casting Orgs for dummies"

Yeah, it's a bit disappointing from the perspective of someone who spunked $30 on i49.tf with no intention of going to i49, just because I like good telly. I even asked for my weapon to be signed by Lange rather than b4nny because he's the best.

FWIW (thirty dollars) I really like Hildreth as a caster, he has nice low-key style that sadly contrasts with the rest of VTV's witless screeching.

I would also love to see Pledge & Skully cast a game than a bag full of oats and a cow? when would me and Hildreth, who have casted a single game together be in competition with Arx & Beta? I'd love to cast more but yeah I've casted about 4 games in my lifetime and I'm by no means the bext tftv has to offer.

On the upside I imagine Extine is pretty amused by this.

As someone who has previously made an emotional over-reaction to having a casting opportunity taken away from me, this thread is way more depressing than amusing.

Multiplay went with VTv? So what? It's a professional eXchange and you just gotta move forward.

It's like if you get broken up with, you're not going to win anything by lighting your car on fire to show your eX how much you love her.

The calls for TF.tv to still cast it are a little worrisome to me because of the combative tone. Collaboration truly is the path forward because we are a small enough community that if you try and crush everyone else, you will, and then there'll be no one left.

Find a way to work together instead of competing head to head with VTv on this. I'd love to see Sal and Lange get to attend i49. TF.tv needs VTv. and VTv needs TF.tv.

What if TF.tv went in a support role? During the group and opening brackets, there is no way VTv can cover every single match. VTv hypes the TF.tv stream and vice versa, VTv gets first pick of matches cuz of stage presence for local fans, and both streams are up until there is only one game playing at a time. Until the grand finals, the rest of those games get casted by 1 caster from each organization. Grand Finals casted by Arx + Beta but map break analysis team is half-stocked with TF.tv guys.

Sounds great to me. Hopefully the egos can deflate and get out of the way and the community can move forward together.

I'm eXcited for i49 and I think everyone should still be regardless of who's casting. We are sending another team O_o holy fuck amazing.

I was wondering what keeps tf.tv from streaming anyway, it's not like there is a streaming embargo for non-Vtv people right.

This blew up very quickly.

I should explain why TFTV not getting the contract led to me changing my plans to attend.

It has nothing to do with a paycheck, I wasn't even aware that getting paid was an option. However, it does have to do with money. I'm not exactly rich and going to i49 was going to be a significant investment. I was willing to do that if it meant that I got to do a job, learn a lot, and put something on my resume. When I was informed that VTV would be handling the production, I assumed that I was no longer needed. I would love to go and see all the European players and get drunk for a weekend, but I simply cannot justify an international trip for that. Not with my current financial situation.

I am not upset that VTV got the contract because of some feud or spite towards them. I am upset because I was really looking forward to putting on a show I could be proud of and being part of an international event as more than just a spectator. I have no ill will towards VTV.

Maybe Skyride's posts weren't the most level-headed, but I honestly understand where he is coming from. I have the luxury of being a prominent streamer in the community. I get recognition all the time, sometimes for shit I didn't even do (MGEMod 2.0). Skyride and Comedian are under appreciated, and after a few months or years that really starts to eat at you. They pour their hearts and souls into what they do, and feel like they receive little-to-none of the merit.

If VTV needs someone to aid in the production, I'd be happy to talk to them. I think Skyride and Comedian (with some gentle coaxing) would too. At the end of the day, all any of us want to do is put on a show we can be proud of. We still have time to think bigger than what either side was individually planning and come up with something amazing.

If TF.TV help VTV out it's still going to be under the VTV brand, meaning that the wrong people once again would get recognition and credit that they don't deserve. It would also encourage Multiplay to keep outsourcing to VTV in the future ("lol u naive kid tf2 will die") and since Byte's a retard that wouldn't work out. I understand every bit of Skyride's frustration.

HallowIf TF.TV help VTV out it's still going to be under the VTV brand

In no way does it say they cant use the TFTV logo and vice versa, The only thing that has been decided is that VTV is the one taking care of it and is responsible for it.

HallowIt would also encourage Multiplay to keep outsourcing to VTV in the future

In no way can you predict Multiplays decision. It also depends if VTV decides to do the coverage again, (with or without TFTV on their side)

Hallowand since Byte's a retard that wouldn't work out.

Keep personal insults to yourself. You're just making a fool out of yourself.

HallowI understand every bit of Skyride's frustration.

I also understand his frustration, I just dont understands his means of ventilating them. And I also think a certain level of pride or personal issues are blocking his view of professionalism here (The best results doesnt always come with your way of doing things)

This thread is blown out of proportion and in no way should we assume what is going on backstage.

I phrased my last post awfully, but what I was trying to say was that TFTV/VTV cooperation will be hard due to the same reason VTV and TFTV didn't cooperate to begin with, and due to the same reasons that so many people left VTV.

Also sorry Byte

SalamancerProfessionalism is overrated.

It looks childish from the outside, but really everyone here is just inexperienced and it's good to bounce the complaints off eachother, although probably better from behind closed doors. The reality is that while everyone cares about furthering TF2 in esports (and I really doubt VTV is like some ego-maniacal villain who plans on making billions and shutting out competitors) we're all just noobs trying to figure it out one step at a time. And this is GREAT. Maybe not in the idea of 'how are we supposed to get sponsors when they read shit like this' but because I have never seen interaction between the European and US scene about matters like this taken so easily and upfront. Every experience is a learning one and we're doing pretty frickin' well with no ushering from more experienced E-sport organizations.

In what way will it be hard? The only reason it will be hard is if people dont let their ego go in the way.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why it shouldnt work. If personal vandettas goes in the way for professionalism then these certain people dont deserve the credit they get in the first place.

Its hard to stay professional when there is no financial gain from it, I get that. But you gotta remember you entered this on the thought of promoting this game that you love.

Im fully stoked for I49. But im just a viewer, Im not the organiser, Im not a part of any organisation. But my wish for this lan is that it will be as awesome as possible. Its up to the organisers who plan this out, to try to fulfill my wish as the viewer and supporter of the organisations (Both VTV and TFTV)
