I know it’s coming out on the 30th but I kinda wanted to get in on the beta. Anyone playing it yet? I missed out on vermintide 1 and 2 since I didn’t have a good enough computer for it. Would love to play with some folks on here if anyone wants. I wanted something alone to compensate for how bad Back 4 Blood was.

it's basically the same game with better shooting and worse visual level design with functionally the same specials and far weaker characters personality-wise as vermintide 2

it does have a "better" progression system because you get paid with cash that you use to buy what weapons you want instead of random equipment rolls but the game currently runs like complete garbage even with the newest drivers on very competent systems, with loading times especially being atrociously long unless you have the game on an SSD

unless you're a bigger fan of 40k than fantasy (which i am not because i think the lengths the writers go to portray the universe as this unimaginable dystopia goes full circle and it just gets funny), vermintide 2 is imo the superior product and considering it recently hit a player count peak, got a free dlc 2 weeks ago AND it's on sale for like ten bucks until the 22nd, i would recommend buying and playing that until fatshark unfucks darktide's performance

yeaa, the load times are pretty bad, finished the start of the game / prison break thing, got into the hub world and did the tutorials, the cut scene following up from that cases the game to crash every single time despite the game itself running pretty well (I did have to turn ray-tracing off due to performance drops). Hopefully whatever is causing it will get fixed.

Reducing the worker threads in the launcher by 1 from the default made the game playable (15fps to 60fps), but it still runs poorly with huge fps drops. I would wait for it to improve before buying, because I remember vermintide 2 also had performance issues on launch, but now is fine, so I'm sure they'll improve darktide as well

Crazy how it’s a repeat of the same issues despite 2 previous games.

Been managing about 120 fps, mins it’s been rough, usually maxed out on 3070 ti / Alden Lake i5
Honesty surprised so far, I know it will get better.

seems like some honest communication. might take a bit but im not worried about the performance long-term.

Any of you guys had any luck playing longer then like a hour or two with this gpu hangup crash shit? Longest I’ve gone maxed out on a 3070 without rtx has been about two-ish hours, and that was on the 28th before the launch. I’d play at lower settings, and maybe it’s because I’m stuck at 1080p up-scaled on 27inchs, this game is not comfortable at lower settings for me, it’s hard to read and see long distance stuff, environments clashed hard visually.
