Do any active mix groups exist? Any skill level really. Whenever I ask I'm told to go Pugchamp instead but I have a bad case of waiting for excessive time periods only to not be picked. Help a brother out

No harm in trying, but I'd gauge interest first.

Post/upfrag if you wanna see would play in a EU 6s dblmix group.

yeah but they always die so quickly... I've been wanting to make one for a while too but I always assumed ppl wouldn't join it because most mix groups are only alive for about a week

Now we're on the topic: What's the best way to host a mix group? get ppl to join and then post an announcement when you start a mix? Have them at set times?

I'm being told that the only mixes that exist are only shared among select groups of friends. I'd reckon that an open-to-all mix group with about ~200 users would be self-sufficient enough to have a game every day or so.

And the advantage is that you can force ppl on med with last to spec, you don't have to wait for ppl to volunteer

this is a great idea, as long as people don't start complaining about the skill difference , i.e.: a low player in a high dmix or vice-versa.
either way, go ahead with it, you can count on me and on the few tugas left :)

this thread is full of people thinking they're re-inventing mix groups

just make a discord and over time more people will be invited, its also easier to manage than a steam group

most people dont wanna play mixes because they are often very very aids, so i think that's why many groups die after a week or so, i'd set rules and give bans or any other sankctions if they are being broken (for example engi to mid or spy to mid)

People who join doublemixes walk in there with the expectation that they will receive the standard 6v6 experience, not the pub experience. Naturally this would be enforced.

ShpeeismeNow we're on the topic: What's the best way to host a mix group? get ppl to join and then post an announcement when you start a mix? Have them at set times?

I used to run one for a few months a couple of years ago and speaking from personal experience, announcements never work because everyone ignores them and you're stuck spamming your friends list as you normally would. Honestly the best way would be to make a WhatsApp group or whatever since people don't always check discord, everyone ignores steam announcements, and you can't add and manually spam 200 people on steam (which ends up happening every time anyone tries to get a dmix going)

I guess I'll start one then.

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/EUMIXLITE

I'll be running the whole group somewhat democratically, so if you have any questions or suggestions hit me up on Steam, comment on the steam group or comment on this thread here.

I have a few ideas but many of them are a bit vague. Any community suggestions will be summarised, added and credited below:

  • Doublemix every Saturday
  • Games for set skill levels/tiers
  • WhatsApp group
  • Some set moderators, some basic and non-intrusive ground rules and a game 'host'

This is a relatively spontaneous move on a thought I've had for a while, so it might take a few days to be fully set-up and fleshed out.
