Media: According to anonymous (aka fake) source, Rosenstein threatened to quit last night.

DOJ: Not true.

Media: Comey requested additional resources for Russia investigation before being fired.

McCabe: "not aware" of any requests for additional resources.

It just goes on and on... these people need to be held accountable for publishing outright lies on a day to day basis

Pull up any news site and they are all swimming in expert analysis that claims inside sources - none of it turns out true, and then when something big happens, no one, not a single pundit jackass had an inkling it was going to happen, not the slightest clue. Not one. In fact they were all saying the exact opposite, the "expert" opinion was that Comey was here to stay, he was too powerful to shit can and the man himself went around telling the country we're stuck with him. He didn't even last 6 months.

if you think I was referring to some sort of nonexistent grand smoking gun on russia that comey was sitting on, or that I think louise mensch is in any way remotely credible, then you don't know me very well (and definitely didn't read the article I linked directly above your post)

I'm not even sure comey's firing has anything to do with russia at all other than the mere fact of his investigation pissing off trump because he's a capricious child who loves to fire people

I was saying it's very naive to believe that, just because the administration roped in some lifelong bureau wonk to write a memo attacking comey, it suddenly makes his firing appropriate and an action that any other president would take, when the opposite is true

I mean for fuck's sake the memo's argument is that comey went too far out of his way to attack hillary clinton

you can't respond to the media taking anonymous sources at 100% face value with taking the trump administration at 100% face value

the point is, anyone who trusts the words of any of these people when there are so many ulterior motives behind everything they say and so much fuckery and internal conflict going on is making a mistake

do I know for a fact whether or not comey specifically asked for more resources for russia? no

do I know for a fact whether or not rod rosenstein asked to resign? of course not

what I know is that comey was investigating trump, and trump decided to fire him at a time that seems very random other than its proximity to the investigation. everything else is to some degree commentary and speculation, regardless of who it comes from

all I know is that a special prosecutor is needed so that people conducting an active investigation won't be affected by all this madness
