I'm pretty interested in what a big deal was made of this in the US press - if anything it benefits Russo-Turkic relations because Turkey will have to be more amenable to Russian concerns, at least publicly, in the short-term, and the Syria/ISIS situation won't be going on much longer.

I don't think being "amendable" is in the interests of any world government. Especially Turkey-Russia, and they showed it already.

It will be very hard to get anything going. If anything - there might be a chase against the apparently responsible Jaish al-Fatah.
