Circa eSports acquires Meat Market roster

Meat Market are off to a nice start in ESEA Season 23 Invite, finding both success and a new sponsor in Circa eSports.

Meat Market placed 3rd in the Intermediate division during Season 22, and maintained the core of its roster upon their promotion into Invite: broKing, knuck, pelt, and skeez reprise their roles from the previous season. Meanwhile, new additions include slemnish on scout and marmaloo on roamer. slemnish returns for another season of Invite after having played with FROYO BLACK in Season 22. On the other hand, marmaloo has rose through the ranks quickly. In just his third season of ESEA, he will join many Invite rookies, including most of his teammates sans broKing. For the team itself, this will be its third season of Invite. As the saying goes, the third time's the charm, as they have quickly found themselves at the top of the Invite division. The team has put up convincing performances in the first two weeks, leading to a 4-0 record to put the team in 2nd place, including a 5-3 victory over the revamped -bird noises-.

Circa eSports will be diving into TF2 for the first time. The organization fields a CS:GO team as well as players in the fighting game community and streamers. Meat Market is the newest addition to their family. We asked knuck for his thoughts on working with a new sponsor:

Following last season's disappointing finale the potential for this season seemed grim. With our roster additions in slemnish and marmaloo I hope that we've demonstrated a much higher potential than people may have given us credit for. As the season progresses we're very excited to be teaming up with Circa eSports. We hope to represent them well and continue to improve as a team in the coming weeks.

Circa eSports CEO Fwsy also spoke to teamfortress.tv about the new pickup:

We are very happy to have Meat Market a part of Circa eSports; we can't wait to see what they do in the upcoming games. We know they will make us proud this season.

The newly christened Circa eSports roster is:

  • Scout: slemnish
  • Scout: knuck
  • Roamer: marmaloo
  • Pocket: broKing
  • Demoman: pelt
  • Medic: skeez

Editor's Note: Due to miscommunication, there were a few articles (regarding the remaining Invite teams) that never came to fruition prior to the start of the season. I'd like to apologize for that, and we'll be working closely to be more organized in the future.

Circa have a bunch of KI MK and SFV players, not heard anything negative about them but i know the ceo is really young.

Hopefully they wont be super shady or dip out like perilous.

Sponsorship deals are far and few between in TF2, so teams jump on it. Hopefully it's not a scam but I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it is.

only a year and a half old, and theyve never sponsored a team before. they basically doubled their sponsored roster size lol. (only people i recognized were speedkicks and lpn) but sponsoring a tf2 team costs literally nothing now that esea doesnt do lans so whatever.

also their website is :poop:

Invite league fees are $510 and I'm pretty sure this is a thing as well

Presuming they don't miss playoffs (bird noises managed to do it last season) that's like $450 per person which should be plenty
just from a quick search I found flights from massachusetts, which is about the farthest away you can get, for comfortably under 400
