In the latter half of this year, Ascent has fielded several different players on scout alongside Shrugger. To start, the team fielded long-time member Decimate through the completion of ESEA Season 19. However, scheduling conflicts led the team to utilize enigma during their run at Insomnia55. On their return, they picked up yomps to stand in during Season 20 as Decimate was still unavailable.
Given his instrumental role in the team's recent run of titles, and their desire to keep a committed player as they look to ramp up practice for upcoming releases, Ascent has decided to confirm yomps as their official starter for the future. Former starter Decimate is still interested in playing and thus will look to start for another team.
yomps had the following thoughts:
When rando added me and asked me to try out, my first thought was "I'm about to be trolled". Being able to play on a top team so soon into my TF2 career is pretty surreal. I never thought I would have a chance to play with these insanely skilled players.
Individually, I have the most to improve on. Last season was a great experience in terms of fun and knowledge, and it definitely helped me progress as a player while enjoying the time on the team. Going forward as a team, I hope we can have more fun and successful seasons together while trying to win everything we can.
