I've been having a lot of trouble with my ping when every minute or so my ping will suddenly spike to ~250ms from normal for about 5 seconds causing everyone including myself to teleport around the map. These are incredibly consistent. At first this was an issue exclusive to the TF.TV DM and ESEA servers but it's affecting everywhere at this point.
My internet is more than capable of handling the connection and I no longer have bandwidth problems since we've picked up a much better router last night. Is there a way to fix this issue?

This is the problem. If you're looking for a (slightly) cost effective method to get wired without being close to the modem, you can purchase a powerline adapter. That was my solution and my internet has never been more consistent.
