This is a thread for all of the various tools I create around ESEA.

Any and all feedback about these tools is appreciated. If you have an idea for another good tool that could be made, let me know. Thanks for all of your support.

I am loving the schedule tool! Its definitely been helpful in getting some casts setup. I'll let you know if I or the EVLTV folks come up with any suggestions.

This is going to make writing articles and tracking teams so much easier, as well as finding match demos easily. You are the best.

This is absolutely fantastic.

For the schedule, I would like the options (only tf2, completed, etc.) to be reflected in (and read from) the url, so that I can bookmark the settings or be able to send someone else a link to the same view I'm looking at.
The color scheme, spacing, and animations are beautiful, but the tall sticky header that just says "ESEA Schedule" seems unnecessary to me.
Edit: I just noticed colons in the titles, like http://puu.sh/ewzdZ.png. I'd probably change the first to a hyphen, but I'm not sure if that would look better.
Sorry, I keep trying to give complements, but I'm really bad at it.

I'm not too experienced with the required methods, but I'll see if I can get the options to persist to the URL.

The sticky header is required so that on low resolutions the options bar can expand out to display options. I'll try to figure out some way to make the bar more useful.

The colon in the week numbers is due to how ESEA sends me the week numbers. I'll change the separator in between the week number and the teams playing to a hyphen to compensate.

ESEA Schedule has been updated to reflect options in the URL. When you choose options, they will automatically be properly placed in the address bar, and this URL can be copied and reused to reload the same options upon another visit. Let me know if you have any issues with this.

I am happy to finally announce that a new tool is being released in beta: ESEA Divisions.

It displays extra stats about teams such as strength of schedule statistics and experience ratings. This tool is subject to change, so please let me know of any issues that arise or feedback that you have.

I don't understand what half of these columns are supposed to represent - I'm assuming they're acronyms but it doesn't have a description or anything when you hover over them

Aagh, looks like an issue with how I had to implement it. It should display a longer description on hover, but I guess not.

For quick reference, SOS = strength of schedule, ER = experience rating, and RPCT = round win percentage. All others should mirror the ESEA website.

for my own interest in making some tools for stats use, how do you get your data? does your code crawl the esea webpage or is there an API/json/xml feed sort of deal?

ESEA Divisions has been updated. Notable changes include:

  • change of the sorting framework
  • automatic sorting by ESEA playoff criteria (percentage, rounds for, rounds against)
  • fix of abbreviations - hover on header to view long description
  • addition of games played, forfeit wins, and forfeit losses

In addition, ESEA Registration Statistics has been updated to show a countdown to the roster lock for this season, which is less than two weeks away.

ESEA Divisions has been updated to include team profiles. Clicking on a team will bring up an overview in which you can view details about the games they have played and about the players on their roster.

Let me know if there are any issues with this new feature. In particular, there may be bugs because of how this new feature had to be implemented, but hopefully they are all fixed now.

All of the tools are down because the server could not handle the load that was being put on it. They'll be down until I can find a more permanent solution, but at the moment it's looking like the only option is a server upgrade that I can't afford right now.
