Honestly for once I wouldn't WANT any of the primary parties to get involved, there's a lot of he said/she said and general confusion going on. Just have a neutral (yeah right)(still better than first parties tho in this case) third party to talk about it.

I said if you wanted to have craig/eric on the show, you'd have to email them. I never said "no one from esea will say anything about it"

I get that its sort of a delicate thing, but it seems sort of silly to me to have the topic this week be about some people and then not have them on and have other people talk about them instead.
Twilitlordthere's a lot of he said/she said and general confusion going on.
Kinda seems like having third parties talk about it would perpetuate the he-said she-said further rather than just getting someone from the team so you can get concrete facts. I'm not even saying you have to get brad, but at least like dummy or blaze and they could talk about the decision of not playing a bit more in-depth.

5:41 PM - Killing in the Name #esea: nobody with me will say a word
My mistake, I misread that.
We're not going to bash either esea or watch this, just try to make sense of the situation and what it means for invite/esea/etc

cbear could you address and discuss the topic of alternative leagues? like is there anything that could be done to make CEVO the preferred tf2 league. or how viable or impossible would it be to have a community league and host some small and humble na lan finals. maybe expand on seanbud's idea to have some kind of tournament with a small prize pot.

I was referring to players that agreed with my decision

In the grand scheme of things, it really wouldn't cost much for a sponsor to support a LAN and a TF2 community league and provide a better service than ESEA.
Now, when I say "wouldn't cost much" I still envision in the $100k+ for league employees and LAN prizes and the like, because there is a lot of behind the scenes work that makes those things happen. But provide a $10k+ prize pool and you'd see all the Invite teams who cared play it.
Is this something feasible for the TF2 community? Can those people who already sponsor find more people with dough?
I guess the answer is NO, but, maybe while twitch.tv and competitive gaming get bigger maybe TF2 can find some better opportunities for sponsors (in the trickle-down economics kind of way).
Also, while I'm dreaming, an American LAN in New York or Boston would provide a chance for Europeans to more easily fly over here to fight on U.S. soil. That could be something worth sponsoring too.
