Looking for a pair of earbuds. Looking for earbuds because I don't want to carry bulky headphones around with me all the time.

Basically, I'd like at least decent-sounding earbuds that do not go around my ears. $30 would probably be the most I'd pay. Any suggestions?

i haven't used many earbuds but i've had these for about a year now.

Brainwavz M2

ViSang R03 are the exact same aswell, you might be able to find these cheaper

they're a little bit out of your price range, but you can wear them cable down and they provide great noise cancellation. my only complaint with them was that the cable is relatively small for computer use if the jack is on the back of your machine and you keep it kind of far away (i'm sure most earbuds have a similar problem compared to headphones), but I found a headphone jack extension lying around and it does the job, which is especially handy if you want to watch a movie while in bed or something of that sort.

if you're looking for more information, here's a resource you can use to read comprehensive reviews on different pairs sorted by price range.

this guy knows way more than me or probably anyone else here purely based on the sheer amount of earbuds he's tested out.

I've done about 2 months of research for earphones & headphones, and the general consensus is that the best quality for money earphones you can buy are the Vsonic VC02 for 40$. It might be a little bit above your budget, but I would probably suggest them. If you're not willing to dish out 10$ then the aforementioned Brainwave M2/Visang R03 are probably your best bet. You should definitely check out joker's insane list of IEM reviews that were linked. Good luck.

I've been using a pair Klipsch S4s for a while and they sound great. You can get the s4i, which is the s4 with some inline controls for apple stuff, for $34 on amazon instead of the normal ~60 that they go for nowadays.

how do these compare in stuff outside of price? i've been looking for some earbuds to use while walking to school or at the gym.

i've heard very good things about klipsch but i'm not familiar with the sennheisers.

Really any Sennheiser earbuds are usually a really good choice and not too expensive. I had mine (dont remeber the exact name of them but they are similar to the cx200) for about 3 years now and paid around 35€ for them :)

The CX300s (by far their most popular model) and CX500s are awful. Sennheiser don't have a consistent track record in earphones at all. It's pretty much like their headphones. Low end models trade on brand recognition earned by their higher level expensive models.

AKG K311 are the best earbuds I've ever used and don't plan on using any others.

PS. I can't use in-ears as they just fall out of my ears.

These had nice quality but I've had two pair die on me.

I use Logitech earphones now. I forget what they're called.

mthsadhow do these compare in stuff outside of price? i've been looking for some earbuds to use while walking to school or at the gym.

i've heard very good things about klipsch but i'm not familiar with the sennheisers.

The S4s were ~$70 when I got them, and I'm still happy with my purchase. They're generally in that range so I'd venture a guess that they would outclass most of the $30-50 earphones.

As far as being outside and all that, I feel like I get pretty decent isolation with them, but I don't use earphones outside that much so I'm not the best to ask about that.

Anyone here have the Klipsch X10's? The bass on those are pretty great and I picked them up for around $90 on Amazon, I've had mine for half a year now and they've worked pretty great and it might be worth it to buy a nice pair to keep for a while (2-3 years for my old pair of X10s if I didn't step on them :( )

The only issue I have with my IEMs and most IEMs is that the cord is terrible at preventing sound from transferring from the cord so every time you move, you hear an "oomph" sound.

Also thought it was pretty funny to note you can use virtual earbuds to buy yourself most of the earbuds in this thread.

Every pair of earbuds that I buy dies on me <6 months. One ear gets a little quieter for 2-3 weeks, then dies completely. This has happened to multiple Sennheiser products as well as competing brands that I can't think of right now.

Aside from sending me to some nerd dungeon forum with a 15 page "Sticky: EARBUD FAQ" thread, does anyone have suggestions/advice for what's going on here?
