a wee bit confused about joining a team

i have played a bit of tf2 center and it seems pretty fun, but people recommend i join an hl team. i am a begginer eu spy. how do i go about it, i have browsed the etf2l "open" section (as it is the lowest one i believe) for eu teams that need a spy and submitted a comment on some of them. is that all i need to do? and how do i play my first match with any team?
can anyone here who actively plays hl and is part of a team detail their first experience?

masterTF2you can get servers from serveme.tf for free if their are not busy or you can get serveme premium for premium servers
i thought those were for comp or private matches, not 24/7 community sevrers. just found out i can get premium for 2 keys a month, which i can do, thanks!

The only active romanian server shut down and that made me sad. the diacord server still exists though and i could invite people on a mew one! i have never hosted a server before, i have only helped my friend manqge a scp:sl server once, what is the best and maybe simplest way to do it? i dont really wanna keep my computer on at all times and have my internet gutted, but if there qre no other options i may consider it

turbochad69chances are you have a custom scripts/objects.txt somewhere. removing it should make the tele cost normal.
it doesnt look like i have that file

AdnurakIt's remarkable how much cleaner and stylish this game was before valve spent a decade adding sprinkles to a cake they'd made perfectly the first time. The whole presentation of TF2 is so fucking LOUD now: The UI, the hats, the annoying looping taunts, the sheer density of audiovisual clutter is astounding. I miss the TF2 of 2007-2009 a lot, and it's actually weirdly heartwarming to see some people are still playing and enjoying a version of the game with the original style intact.
im a bit sad i never got to play then, because it feels pretty cool today. when i am a bit tired i turn off the sound and put on nohats mod and it gives some cozy vibes

even though teles cost 50 metal my hud ( https://www.teamfortress.tv/46585/woolhud ) tells me its 125 and i cant build teles if i have any amount lower than that. i have used this hud for about 3 months but i dont really play engie so i havent noticed
