#6 Demoman: What should I know before lobby/PUG'ing? in Q/A Help
swiperPay attention to what the rest of your team is doing--if you're by yourself there's a good chance you're overextending (or they're massive vaginas, but since you're new play more passive and stay alive until you get enough experience to know what's going on). Try to stay with your medic, but behind the pocket and don't take too much unnecessary damage.

So are there specific times when the Demo does lead? A Kritz situation?

Is a demo still the main sentry-buster in a HL game, or is it a focus-fire situation like 6's?

#1 Demoman: What should I know before lobby/PUG'ing? in Q/A Help

Title says it all. My DM is OK, and my rollouts I'm working on. To start with I'd be picking HL games, and eventually I'd like to play 6v6. Pubs seem too chaotic for anything besides DM'ing, really, but I'd like to know what I should really be focusing on when going into an organized game because I feel alot of pressure is on the role as Demo. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

edit: Could someone point me in the direction of some good Demoman POV's with perhaps some commentary/analyzing?

#21 MS WMO 1.1a replacement? in Hardware
disengageyukiedit: sorry- thread highjackTrying to find an IME 3.0 as I haven't used one for years and really liked them. Anyone know of any online stores or whatever that sell them? Can only find a few on eBay but they seem "questionable" at best. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000JVRFHG/ref=nosim/3147335-rg15770-21rather expensive...

Yeah, really the only ones left that aren't questionable are the "new in box" ones, and even then you're proably going to pay $60-70 for it.

that's probably about all you're going to find. I'd like one myself, but they are discontinued as far as I know.

#6 Buying new stuff, should I buy new case/power? in Hardware
BonkersIm buying an Intel i5 2500k, asrock z77 extreme4, gforce 560 ti and 4 gigs of ram. Is 550w not enough for that?

You need to add up your wattage uses for each element in your computer and if its <550, you should be fine. But you should also keep in mind to check your HD (or each of them if you have more than one), and add those as well. Chances are just from what you described you're going to need more power. If it were me, if that number came close to 550 at all, I'd get a new one- you need some leeway. Excess power is never bad in a PC, particularly for future expansion/hardware changes.

Is your motherboard the same form factor as your case?

Just wondering, but will your 550w PSU handle your new hardware's power needs? If so, no need to replace it.

#18 Fully Charged - we want your questions for ESEA! in TF2 General Discussion

New items have to be approved and implemented by Valve- more medals, effects, etc just makes more they have to make work with everything else. The only thing that makes them money is selling items/keys through the store, not any transaction between players.

I'm not sure they'd even get half the numbers for a pay-to-play HL league, personally.

#13 MS WMO 1.1a replacement? in Hardware

I narrowed it down to the Zowie EC1, Razer DA, Logitech G500 or a MS Intellimouse Explorer (basically the MWO with side buttons). Thoughts?

Zowie AM for its reputation, size, buttons I need.

Razer DA for the same, but I worry about its negative issues I've seen about them (build quality, side buttons wearing out, customer support).

G500 for its size- but I don't need 8 buttons necessarily and I've wondered how easily the thumb buttons are used. (Any users out there?)

MS IME: Its basically what I have now +2 side buttons which is alright by me. I've had nothing but good things from the WMO, even though my thumb & pinky seem to always be rubbing the mat.

#16 looking to pick a new gaming mouse, suggestions? in Hardware

I bought a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical (WMO) 1.1a off of eBay for like $10. For your price range, you could get that or an Intellimouse Explorer for cheap on there too.

KhakisquashRickdon't believe the lies there is no replacement for a wmo 1.1a while I agree in some ways, I'd also like something a bit heavier. After some comparison, the G500 seems to be good for size/weight/"click". the g500 has positive acceleration, also it's best for regular grip

thanks for the heads up on the acceleration.

MIndIIRC kana has accel. AM, EC1 or EC2 EvO. Also, the new DA is coming out soonish.

Yeah I keep coming back to a DA. I've also read that many SteelSeries models have negative accel issues with the sensor.

I'm looking to find something with a firm click feeling to it, and a good size because I have a large palm. I hear that Logitech mice have a click that has a feel like a mechanical keyboard, for lack of a better way to describe it.

bl4nksteelseries kana or zowie am. then again, just get another wmo.

I'll take a look at the steelseries models. I'm not sure what I'm looking for or how to describe it, but I'd like to have a different kind of action when I click. It feels flat.

#1 MS WMO 1.1a replacement? in Hardware

I was just wondering what would be a good mouse replacement that is near the size of my WMO. Its starting to wear and I'm looking for something new. Isn't the Razer DA about the same size & shape? I have no personal experience with Logitech or other brands, so any help here could be appreciated.

edit: What I'm looking for:

-larger mouse (I have large hands)
-firm click, or maybe one with a little resistance? Not sure how to describe
-More than 2 buttons, but it doesn't have to have alot

I use more of a claw/palm grip.
