So I'm planning on replacing the 60hz monitor on my laptop and moving up to the ASUS VG248QE. I've already asked around and i figure my frames won't take too much of a hit, but i really want a consistent frame rate above 144. i'm running dx8 on highframes, and could always move over to maxframes, but it doesn't seem to give too much of a performance boost. The only thing i really have left is lowering my resolution. I have a custom hud, and with most of the elements being non-centered, will probably get screwed up. What resolution should i move down to to get the best performance while doing the least amount of damage aesthetically? (the monitor is at 1920 x 1080 as the base res) (i get around 100-160 frames in a 6v6 pug, around 60-80 in a pub, 200-260 mge, 300-400 jumping.) (my current resolution is 1600 x 900) (i'm running the GeForce GTX 660M and i7)

phobiareddyou can launch a map from a surf server so all the plugins load with it, but seeing as you don't have internet i have no ideaWell i do have internet, i just have 800 ping consistently.
if you connect to a surf server and type "map surf_***" into console you'll get everything except bunnyhopping. i'm also pretty sure you can switch maps without re-connecting to the server and the plugins will transfer

HueyLewisAre you using Flux? Flux is known for forcing its own settings on every program, whether you have it set to disable for full-screen apps or not. It's the only time I've seen anything like that happen. Just stopped playing Machine for Pigs and it's working fine for me.

this may only be semi-related, but ive been having a problem with gamma and windows eight. i recently downloaded amnesia 2, and the game has a built-in gamma slider. when i move it, the screen will flash to the according changes in brightness, but then go back to default. ive had the same problem setting up another monitor, the color and brightness go back to normal after a second.
