#2 Graphical Glitches? NVIDIA Post Windows 10 Update in Q/A Help

Did you upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, or do a clean install? If upgrade, did you update your drivers from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10? Either way, I'd suggest a clean install if you did the upgrade.

My team's Demo was having a lot of the same issues, and it was because he did the upgrade -- fixed it w/ a clean install.

Okay, I said something yesterday, but I'm going to destroy whoever has the playlists from yesterday and today if we don't get them.

#32 Insomnia55 General Discussion in TF2 General Discussion

Definitely not a priority, but I'd like to be able to know what song is playing by typing !song or !music in chat if possible. Been a few songs that caught my interest along the way.

Can we at least get some sort of list of the music that's played/the order it was played after the fact?

Edit: this is becoming a priority now.

#10 LF Mid+ Open Pocket, Demo, and Backups in Recruitment (looking for players)

I roamed for these guys last season after my Open team died, and I'll admit it was a great experience. Differ's a smart team leader, and knows to get peeps who have the good vibes flowin' and make for a great team together. Fun will ensue.

#6 neeko lft scout in Recruitment (looking for team)

Neeks, my fuckin' BOY. Because he usually has downtime between seasons he rusts up a bit, but he'll be a sleeper for any high-Open team after he gets some practice in.

#10 aiera lft in Recruitment (looking for team)

Aiera is a wonderful personality to be around- being kind, humorous, and easy to talk to. As for Roamer, Aiera's playoff-level material w/ solid comms, DM, and decision making capabilities.

#14 Looking for a new home in Recruitment (looking for team)

It blows my mind that Max still isn't on a team. As a Pocket he's a very strong main caller who can competently direct his team with ease, and is a vocal Roamer who doesn't feed. Max makes for a well-rounded Soldier w/ great calls, solid DM (with crazy airshots for days), and a serious drive to improve. IM ready, dedicated team player with a serious drive to improve.

As a side note, you might need some thick skin time-to-time, but he's entirely well meaning and can help make you a great player. This is the guy that's going to bring you up to scratch if you're not, and do it well from personal experience.

Give him a good home already.

#9 Instrument Samples in Music, Movies, TV
dummyGotcha, good luck brah

PM me a link of the finished product if you dont mind, im curious to see how it sounds

I will! I'll post a link on the thread as well. The song's a personal favorite of mine, so I've been wanting to "perfect" my mix. I found the song online a few years ago and have used the song to experiment with different mixing styles; I finally have my stride, though.

#6 Looking for headphones around $200 in Hardware

I suggest the Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro 250 Ohm semi-open headphones. On Amazon, you can buy the Beyer DT880 Pro for ~$230 new currently. These headphones are designed for tracking, and mixing; the frequency response is flat, with a crisp, fantastic bass response. The soundstage is excellent.

I currently use the Beyer DT880 Pro 250 Ohm w/ a Schiit Audio Modi 2 DAC, and Magni 2 Amp as a stack. I have no complaints about the sound quality of these headphones what-so-ever.

lethargist*snip*

Thanks, after all of this time dabbling in a lot of aspects of production I think this is a great introduction when diving into the world of samples. This stuff's all golden and really gives me some options for other tracks.

dummy*snip*

The problem w/ the recordings, above all, is bleed and poor mic placement. The kick and snare sound soft -- not in a fitting way for the song, at all -- with tons of noise from the rest of the kit making it difficult to mix either instrument w/o bringing unwanted artifacts of another instrument out. Multi-band compression didn't help a bit w/ EQ n' such.

Thanks for the sample recommendations, these definitely seem to be in the ball park w/ this song in specific.

#1 Instrument Samples in Music, Movies, TV

Anybody have some recommendations for good instrument samples, specifically drum samples, ie; snare, kick, cymbals of all kinds? I finally have the software to properly mix a song that's been a nuisance to me for a long time, but the drum recordings, barring the overheads, are trash; there's terrible cymbal bleed in the snare mic that can't be contained, and the snare and kick lack the punch to cut through the mix.

One of the guitar DI tracks is out-of-time w/ no amp mic to layer w/ it (meaning it doesn't fit in the mix), and the guitars bleed into the overheads some meaning I have to do a harsh high-pass filter to cut the guitar out completely.
