What the fuck is happening? The last big news out of Paris i heard was the Charlie Hebdo shooting and we're not even through a full year and this shit happens again? This also looks soooooooooooooooo much worse than the Boston Bombing! :O

#793 PC Build Thread in Hardware

I don't think is 480GB is big enough, definitely not for me at least, but if you're okay with it I guess??? Still think having a SSD for game storage is overkill.

What are you using the 480GB SSD for?

Then it's fine i guess, ACER is the only monitor on newegg.com with G-Sync since the BENQ one is out of stock? in the 24 range.

Only thing is your CPU cooler, the D14 doesn't have LGA2011/2001-3 listed in its compatibility and a filter search on PCPartPicker is only giving me the D15, so might want to change that.

#786 PC Build Thread in Hardware
lol_goatSo here's the parts list I picked out for my new build. Primarily for gaming, but also some light music production and video editing. Any suggestions for any changes?

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=28415305

If you're going for a 980Ti and a 2011 CPU, might as well go all in and go with a 4k monitor or something. I heard the ACER monitor isn't too great, plus I won't be using a gaming monitor with a TN panel without checking the colours on it for video editing. You have extra hard drives for storage other than the 480SSD right? Do you absolutely need the DVD drive?

edit: or a 2560x1440 monitor. Are you trying to reduce the overall price or just check for parts?

#14 are you prepared for the rossathon in Off Topic

There something weird about watching the calm, relaxed Mr. Ross painting beside the hyperactive ADHD 10-year-old that is the twitch chat.

#8 Valve to introduce "Paid Mods" in Off Topic

From the FAQ itself
Q. Can I get a refund?
A. If you discover that a mod does not work for you, or does not meet your expectations based on the description of the mod, you can get a refund within 24 hours of your purchase. You can view the full refund policy here.
Q. What happens if a mod I bought breaks?
A. Sometimes one mod may modify the same files as another mod, or a particular combination of mods may cause unexpected outcomes. If you find that mod has broken or is behaving unexpectedly, it is best to post politely on the Workshop item's page and let the mod author know the details of what you are seeing.

So if a mod I paid for breaks in 3 days because it conflicts with other mods or whatever, I can't get a refund. I have to beg politely to the creator.

Edit:God i hope Nexus doesn't turn to shit

#3 Valve to introduce "Paid Mods" in Off Topic

Great job showing Skyrim, a game where having out-dated mods can make the game unplayable, as the first example of this new system. Oh boy, can't wait to pay for a mod only to have its creator stop supporting it and become unusable after a month, or have a few of the paid mods conflict with each other.

#2 Steam now has paid workshop mods in Off Topic

Damn just posted my thread about it, welp Mods delete that one to avoid duplicates, I don't mind.

Back to the topic, it's going to be terrible. I love how the first game to do this is Skyrim, a game where out-dated mods breaks the game easily. What happens when a paid mod breaks my game? Can i get a refund?

The stock cooler is pretty ass, but it's not that ass. These temps are a bit worrying...

Get the basics out of the way, did you mount the cooler correctly? Did you apply thermal paste?
