I was in Chemistry class sophomore year of high school trying to think up a name and we were learning about water so the term polarity came up. I liked it and it fit since I like the cold and snow.
At first I added things to it like "PolarSpecimen" and "PolarSpectrum" but everybody just started calling me Polar so it stuck.
edit: the extra r's were added because Polar by itself was taken :(
