#9 TFTV DM Servers - Status Updates and Discussion in TF2 General Discussion

a few things i feel are worth mentioning as a guy who runs a dm server

the map list: as far as i know sal was using a broken version of sourcemod and he couldnt find a way to use non-5cp maps in the rotation
im sure youre already looking into stuff like this but you should really consider adding the most recent version of product, and possibly readding turbine and gpit.
it would also be great to update sunshine and metalworks to their valve official versions instead of using the really outdated and frame-killing custom versions.
also this is my personal opinion but i feel like i gotta say; badlands and gullywash are not good dm maps and you should remove them. i get that theyre competitive staples but the spawns and layout of these maps do not make for a good dm experience.

the white list: this is probably a point of contention but imo it would be nice if you could keep it pretty limited in terms of what you allow. this is what i use
people should come to practice aiming, not using random weapon mechanics to cheese people

server settings: fixed spawns are bad use random ones
we turned damage based hp gain on recently and ive gotten mixed opinions on it. personally i like it more but there are some downsides.
as far as stopping the cheating guy, the route we went was using a plugin that completely blocked f2p accounts from joining. it seemed to work as ive never actually seen him in my server, the only downside being possibly blocking legitimate players using alts

i would really enjoy if you could restore the tftv servers to their former glory and i could stop wasting my money, thanks for taking this up

#1 demoman demo reviews in Mentoring

i desperately need content to establish my brand on
if you would like an 'invite' 'demoman' 'player' to watch your demo and give feedback post a link in this thread or send me a pm on tftv

i dont know if i need to say but i would really rather not watch pugs or highlander

#19 Weapon Bans in TF2 General Discussion

if you think quickies are op try killing a buffed heavy with them
your damage output in 90% of fights is just so much lower with that gun
its got a few niche gimmick uses and is pretty good in 1v1s but demo 1v1s shouldnt be a thing

#19 Clockwork Demos in Q/A Help
TwiggyKnowing what he does does not help you to do it, since no player has/had his aim ;)
Why watch his demo if, after half his plays you are like 'well this shouldn't have worked'? Why not watch someone that plays in a way you can reliably reproduce?

Do you watch strenx to know how to play quake or rapha if you can choose?

thats pretty stupid dude
clockwork had great aim, but he wasnt inhuman. there are a handful of scouts who can aim as well as him in invite atm. it was his monster dm coupled with his great timing and gamesense (stuff you can definitely learn from his pov) that made him a top level scout.

seeing a player who uses his dm effectively and then assuming because hes making these plays he must have no brain or reason behind what he does is honestly pretty disrespectful to the guy
