the amount you get knocked around by rockets is wayyyy less
rockets are also way different in how you can surf and play around them

Thing about it this way a 240 health buffed soldier jumps on you, you're using pipes and he lands on you with 200 health, you'd only have to pipe him twice and he'd be dead. Lets say you were using loose cannon, you'd have to hit him 4 times.
The basics of the loose cannon is your giving up short range damage for mid range damage.

the thing will send you to one of the four corners of the earth if you get hit while jumping, which is arguably better than giving the player time to fire shots after he's airshot, and the LC has a faster projectile speed which is p something
the damage isn't that bad, but the random, unsurfable stun style push back is just irritating. Giving demo a random direction airblast isn't something that makes the game more fun

KaeyelQuertat this point, it rests no doubt in my mind that the chinese government is covering the actual death toll, as it has been reported that over a hundred firefighters went in the place when it was just catching fire, before the huge explosions we've witnessed, and only 4 came out. 50 is too much of a low estimate for this horrible catastrophe.
