In the years since LBGT has entered mainstream discussion, at least since the 1980s(aids epidemic), the world population has steadily grown, and that is attributable to improvements in the availability of medicines, nutrition, and infrastructure. So I don't think you need to worry about the human race suddenly being ended by LBGT people, even a lot of them.

I think it is sometimes hard for skinny people to realize that some fat people just like being fat. If your friend works at a plus size store and is fat, maybe she is simply venting about how people make fun of her, rather than being fundamentally disturbed by it. So you could just be a friend and lend a supporting ear rather than trying to manipulatively/subversively change her.
