omniI like how a gaming community that commonly uses terms such as "raped", "faggot" and so on are judging another person for calling a fat person fat well done

xenextf2 is has never and will never be taken serious, especially with all the nosy stream viewers who love to stir up drama

it's easier to stir up drama that people will notice when you have a community this small

#12 Do you PUG? Why/Why Not? in TF2 General Discussion

I pug because it's the only form of organized competitive TF2 I can play now that I work nights. However, I did play a ton of pugs before finding this job and played in ESEA. It's [usually] a fun way to play and can help teach you things you won't learn in DM/MGE. There's also the fact that pugging with someone could very well lead to friendships you wouldn't have obtained otherwise. It's how I befriended a lot of people I'm chill with anyway.

I usually play in tf2mix but I much preferred pugna before it ended up being dead until around scrim hours. I normally take up in house offers whenever I get any, though that's understandably not that often. Unless I'm not in the right groups. Every once and a great while I'll subject myself to torment and hop on tf2center.

As far as tryharding or goofing off, I enjoy it more when there's more actual competition. So anywhere from a game where people are playing normally to a game where people are doing the best they can to win. I don't hate goofing off; in fact, I enjoy doing it at times like anyone else. It's just considering this is my only form of organized competition like I mentioned above and don't want to completely rust myself out for when I am able to play in leagues again, I'd rather keep it normal or competitive between teams. I don't think goofing off ruins anything though. Unfortunately, it's not any time I can go and goof off with a "long hair, don't care" mentality throughout the game. I regrettably (I can live with it because this is all I have at the moment, but still) care more about my performance in pugs than I should, so I have to either be drinking or in that special mood.

#10 Frags + This Music, please in Off Topic
Lionxwhat happened to when some frag videos used to get like thousands of views? did like people just leave?

no, i don't believe so. i assume that most of the older frag videos with a "ton" of views were during a time where there weren't dozens of people trying to make them. basically my logic behind this thought is that the less videos being published, the more desire there was to watch them. plus at this time, seeing cool stuff like double/triple airshots or some insanely ridiculous airshot or 4-5k headshot frags weren't common. like 90% of videos made are always full of that. which is fine. you don't always want to publish something with stuff you find mediocre or a waste of time watching.

i feel like it's either that or the simple fact that most of the videos made now aren't that original. of course the more videos people pump out, the less original they become. there's nothing really unique about videos anymore. the one thing, however, that can help this from being a problem for however long it will last is integrating SFM into these videos more. i've done it, cube has done it, and others have done it, but in very simplistic and not really catchy ways. it's difficult applying unique visuals to transitions and not make it end up overedited. considering most videos seem to make the majority of their transitions noticeably edited, anyway. and you know people will harp on the editor if they see it as overedited. it's the way things go.

there's also hype. the more advertising a video gets and the more hype it gets, the more popular it will become by default. you want them to want to see your video before it's up, or even finished. it's just how it goes. it doesn't matter if your video is in reality terrible, though it helps not being terrible. if you advertise enough and give it enough hype, you'll at least get a good amount of views. albeit not as much as a video with a lot of hype that also isn't terrible. that way people will share and the cycle will continue.

oh, and don't get me wrong. i'm not trying to look like my videos are unique or special or anything. in fact, the reasons i feel that are stopping most videos from getting a lot of recognition are the same reason i know why mine aren't. my most viewed video, i believe, is Platinum's season whatever frag video (which i feel safe to say fortunately saved his frag video status after I Am Platinum l0l) and that simply is solely because of the hype behind it. invite player and all the benefits of being one? check. frag video? check. known editor (disregarding any negatives/positives surrounding my videos)? check. advertisement? check. hype from previous items in list? check. easy view gain.

edit: there's also the issue that some people want to see main/invite players dunking on each other rather than an open player making plays in a pug or something equivalent. not as important as this is becoming less of an issue from what i can tell.

sorry for the essay.

tl;dr it's either because so many people make videos now they're not as desired as when there weren't many being made or because there are so many being made that aren't unique or special and no one cares that much anymore.
