I feel like I missed something. Is this guy trolling or did I miss something?

34/64 teams have signed up!
One day in, and we're halfway full. Sign up soon if you want to play, guys!
I'll be adding info to the main post about maps and whitelists.
If you are a captain (posted in this thread) and I haven't gotten in touch with you on steam yet, there is an issue. Add me on steam and link to your comment. If you don't add me, I'll struggle to get info to you effectively. There will be a steam group soon, but I want to have everyone added so I can quickly message you guys and resolve issues.
Mr_OwlDefinitely prefer double elimination. I assume this tournament isn't gonna be seeded, so double Elim is definitely better to get the best teams to the finals.
That was pretty much my reasoning. I think it's what I'll end up doing.
Captains (people that posted info in thread), I'm sending out friend requests now. Add me, I'll be sending out info and some important polls through steam.
So far we have 18 teams tentatively signed up. Hopefully we'll see a full 64 team bracket. Signup close date will be posted pretty soon, expect it to be around a week from now.
Thoughts on switching to a double elimination bracket? It would take longer and be a bit more difficult for me, but I feel like that would be more fair.
AuroraDo you post here still if you don't have ESEA or CEVO? :s
Yes, I'll add you for keys if no league info is posted.
Frost_BiteWhat is the "standard ultiduo whitelist"? I have seen a few differences between them, mainly over whip and blutsager.
I will probably end up with a poll for the base whitelist. I'm not sure yet, I'm up for suggestions from anyone though.
andwhen will this be taking place
Up until the last few rounds, it will be whenever you can. The final 8 (or maybe 16) teams will play in an event held at some point in time after esea lan.
mgibKevinIsPwnMap: Balloo,
am I the only one who thinks balloo isn't a good map? It's like playing gullywash mid in MGE.
I'm sure you're not, but it's pretty much the standard right now. If both teams want a different map, go for it.
fightif you're going to provide servers for the event, do you plan on providing servers for people to practice on?
If you need it, I'll work something out.
e: This was vague, sorry. There will be info about server stuff within a few days :)

I'm trying as hard as I can guys. It's rough having the face of a twelve year old.
AlannyWell I played and paid, but not a full season does that count?
Yeah sure. The ESEA/ CEVO thing is really just to keep a bunch of terrible entries or alts or whatever. Honestly, doesn't really have to be this past season either.
manaYou gonna get this casted, Kevin?
Depends on how big it is/ if people are willing. So I'll leave it at a strong "maybe" for now.

ANY TEAM THAT SIGNS UP AFTER POST #107 WILL BE PUT ON THE BACKUP TEAM LIST.
Sorry, but space was limited. 64 teams is a lot though, and we're going to have a super fun event for you guys!
WE GOT A SPONSOR. Mad shoutout to trade.tf for doubling (and potentially TRIPLING) our prizepot! More info soon.
~$590 Prizepot without incentive, ~$685 with incentive.
So there is a shitfest ultiduo tournament going on right now, and I want to put on one that isn't shit. You guys deserve it after that. If you played in ESEA or CEVO last season, there's no buy in. If not, 1 key fee for your team (only one if one or both of you has no league experience).
64 / 64 teams signed up
Prizes provided by primarily by trade.tf, along with AG, karabear, CJ-, kevinispwn, yaug, alkaline, and other members of the community. It's still possible to donate to the prizepot, send me a trade offer.

2nd- 40 keys + 100 dollars paypal + potential 14 keys if incentive is met

Rules
-Whitelist will be: stock, reskins, ubersaw, crossbow, escape plan
I may add whip, based on feedback
-3 rounds per map
-Double elimination brackets.
The brackets will go on over the course of a few weeks until there are four teams in the upper bracket and four teams in the lower bracket. Some time after the esea lan (TBA) there will be an event with the final few teams duking it out.
-Map will be either b7 or baloo, more info soon
To sign up, respond to this thread with steam and league urls to your page and your teammates page.
If you have questions or suggestions, post them in this thread.
update one (nov 16)
- Changed format from single elim to double elim
- Added specific whitelist
- Added info on how the brackets will be laid out
- Added banner to forum post
- Added team counter
update two (nov 17)
- For now, keep up with the updates I post on this thread. There will be a better way of communicating with the players soon, but until then it's nice to have an easy way of sending out info to everyone.
- When we get all 64 teams up, every player who's page is linked on this thread will be invited to a private steam group. It is required to join this steam group.
- I will post a specific date soon but please know that with a week, rosters will lock. Teams can have up to one backup, and that backup will have to be listed on this thread before rosters lock. If you edit your forum post after the roster lock you will get no backups.
- I will be as lenient as possible throughout this tournament. A few rounds in, I will start being a lot more relaxed with dates and communication issues, but to start please keep in mind I'll be working with 128+ people in the tourney and numerous volunteers. There's only so much bending I can do to accommodate people before the workload gets too big. If I ever come off as being rude to you when communicating about this event, please know that is never my intent. I've had 10+ chat windows open at any given time since a few hours after this post, so I'm trying to be concise as possible. :)
- Speaking of volunteers, I'm looking for a few admins. Requirements: be at least sort of almost known in the community (no randoms, sorry i don't have time to screen everyone), leadership experience appreciated, and lots of free time required. If you want to admin, please PM me on tftv. Don't add me or anything, just pm me on tftv. Use this form: http://pastebin.com/6AsTGRQG
- Lastly, I have a few people willing to put in money to the tournament. If you're also interested in sponsoring the tournament, please get in contact with me however you can. Keep in mind any keys, money, or other prizes donated to the event stack on to what's already there, so donate what you can if you're able.

technosexDoes anyone have dellort's jump videos saved? I can't find them.
Add me, I have them on a drive somewhere
edit: nvm, exile's got you
When I'm coaching, I like to have a mix of skills in the game. Otherwise, the games are pretty much always a 5-0 for one team or the other. It's really hard to coach 6 completely new players without making it kinda unfun. I find it hard to allow aggressive play because of how out of hand it can get with multiple people overextending and stuff. With some UGC people thrown into the mix, you get a group of people that can do their own thing, so you can really focus on teaching the newbies how to do stuff during the fights. Then, at the end of fights you critique the UGC player's playstyle. Also, in groups with just noobies, the punishment for major mistakes just isn't there. With mixed groups, the noobies get the basic, the ugc players get more complex advice, the game is less chaotic, the UGC players get good at shutting down people playing overly-aggressive, the noobs learn the over-aggression has consequences, and I don't get an aneurysm. Everybody wins!
I also like coaching while playing for a sort of similar reason. Not only can I balance the teams by handicapping myself/ tryharding, I can also focus on what the other people are doing without having to work with whoever would otherwise be on the class I'm playing. It's much easier to coach 5 people than it is to coach 6 people.
Edit: Also the more IM/ Invite players that coach, the better. Give it a shot!
ukmmin 140fps is not awful
why u even wanna expend time or energy on this u aint have a problem to solve here man
140 fps= stuttering on a 144hz monitor.
OP, I just play in 720p. I get 150+ on midfights while streaming on my Phenom II cpu. You don't even notice after a little while. Is this a problem only with TF2 or do other programs mess up?
