#6 Quick 144 hz DVI Issue. in Q/A Help
couch_sitterFireThe upper dvi port is your Motherboard port so it won't work with a graphics card. You should also Test different dvi cables if you didn't do yet, when it's defenitely your PC that produces the problem chances are high that the card is just kill.
The VGA port works fine which means the card should be working fine too. It's either my eyes or the quality of the picture, but that DVI port doesn't look healthy and so the card should probably be replaced due to the damage on the port.

Kayflay, can you confirm that my eyes are not deceiving me when I look at this area?

This looks like some physical damage and if any of the tiny metal contacts in the individual squares are missing you're gonna get visual problems like the lines you are experiencing.

Yeah, thats what I thought was the issue. There is physical damage on that right side. I'll head over and get a new card. Thanks for the help

#1 Quick 144 hz DVI Issue. in Q/A Help

Just over the last day or so, my DVI connection to my monitor has been giving me green and purple lines all over, almost like screen damage. I"ve tested it out on a few other monitors, and found the problem is coming from my pc itself. The DVI port looks a little rough, but it has all the holes and stuff, except for some damage near the bottom. However, its worked before until now.

When I use VGA on a different monitor (my 144 hz doesn't have a vga port), its fine. Its only the DVI that's causing issues.

I have another DVI Port higher up on my machine, but it doesn't work ( I assume because the gfx is connected to the lower one. Does anyone have any recommendations? using hdmi gives me 50 htz, which sucks, so i cant just do that.

I wanted to try to move the gfx card up behind the other dvi port, but there's no room and I'm not nearly experienced enoug

Pictures here: http://imgur.com/gallery/1u2MQ

black dvi port is one one with the issue.

Any help would be awesome

EDIT : I've used 6 or 78 dif DVI cables with the same result

#1 Low Fps w/ new 144 hz monitor in Customization

I was able to get 140+ frames on any map while playing on a 75 hz monitor for years and years. Yesterday, I decided to finally buy a new ASUS 144 htz monitor.

My frames now fluctuate from 70-100 on maps where I used to never dip below 130. It's super frustrating.

My Specs : AMD FX 4300 Quad Core @ 3.80 ghz.
NVIDIA GT 610 Integrated RAMDAC

I'm currently using Dan's MaxFps. I've tried switching to comanglias, but no luck/or change.
Launch Options :-mat_dxlevel 80 -high -novid - -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd

Any help would be awsome

#5 cheater in The Dumpster

this is me. I beat you in mge, so you followed me to a turbine server out of nowhere.

Mojo is right, servers like that make a bot take over if you're away for long enough. I didn't think someone could be this dumb, but as usual I'm wrong.

If you don't believe me go on a server with it enabled and go afk.

#1 How much does a gaming mouse matter? in Q/A Help

I've heard people say its all preference, some people say it makes the game smoother and easier.
In terms of tf2, is it vitally important to have a gaming mouse?
I've always played on a stock insignia mouse, and I never really had interest in upgrading because I assumed they were for show.

#1 Demo dm Advice. in Q/A Help

hi.
I've always struggled with sticky aim against good players who aren't bot pubbers.
I always end up missing whether it be spamming from mid range, or defensive combat stickes. I just can't seem to be precise with anything, even after 200 hours. I try to grind dm and mge as much as possible, but nothing seems to be working.

Anyone have advice in terms of demo dm/ sticky aim? I'd really appreciate it.

edit : I've played on teams in the past, including one season of demo (silver if I remember). Its not from lack of practice, as I pub/dm/mge only with stickes. I think its just a bad habit I've developed or something along those lines. I thought tips from higher level players might help me to understand and find that habit.

I'm mostly looking for stuff like where I should be aiming/prefiring, aim low, or high, that kind of stuff.
