#13 Warhuryeah rant? in TF2 General Discussion

war's rant seems to be same recycled diatribe people have been spouting for quite some time. my counterpoint is: if you like the game, you should continue to play. however, if you're expecting that tf2 will blow up and weapons/classes will be properly balanced and money will be funneled into the competitive scene and viewership will skyrocket, you are most likely in for a bad time.

matchmaking could have been the first door into the aforementioned great things, but it was shipped haphazardly (after 5 months of beta) and without a knob. i don't understand why people keep banging their heads against this very same door. it would seem that no one cares to answer.

#38 Valve limiting coaches in CS in CSGO General Discussion
owlthis rule wouldn't matter at all if it had been created 2 years ago but teams have been used to having a coach for so long and a bunch of them have built their entire roster around it

these are essentially my sentiments. this is a declaration you make much earlier into the competitive life of the game. on the plus side, it does seem as if this is breathing life into the player's union - we'll see what comes to fruition from it all, though.

#23 Post Cologne 2016 Roster Shuffle Thread in CSGO General Discussion

on mobile so no links.

fnatic lose jw, krimz, and flusha. they will reunite with pronax on godsent.

godsent send over twist, lekro and fnatic also add wenton.

TSM, c9, and CLG will soon have roster changes. rumored that c9 will pick up autimatic from TSM and move slemmy to coach.

Winterfox has dropped their team - xp3, anger, and flowsick will be staying together.

didn't sideshow do the bulk of the writing? probably is dead - he writes a lot for over.gg

ProSkeezI thought slemmy was stepping down, not leaving. It was heavily implied that he would probably be coaching.

even that's not confirmed. rumors started because they were scrimming with a new fifth.

also note that Stunna was a manager, not a coach.

#3 Rumor of s1mple to navi? in CSGO General Discussion

should be noted that there are rumored roster changes within a lot of other teams aside from na'vi, namely: envy, fnatic. also, c9 has been rumored to be moving slemmy to coach, tarik has stepped down from CLG (but is still under contract), etc. should be interesting to see what develops from it all.

#8 144hz monitor in Hardware
Pertcant go wrong w/ the classic ASUS VG248QE

can vouch for this monitor; also seems to be the most recommended one outside of benqs. I bought this for about ~$200 shipped during last year's black Friday sale. I might wait until a similar holiday and/or keep your eye on reddit.com/r/buildapcsales

#29 A_Seagull in Off Topic
Corsajoddseagull is affable, embraces the twitch/ow memes, and is good at the game. something that I particularly like is that he tends to "thought broadcast" - he narrates the rationality and logic behind certain decisions he makes as he's playing. that's valuable insight for a newer player like me.

overwatch had a lot of money poured into advertisement (national TV, twitch ads, etc.) so the viewership is understandably inherent. I think it's clear that b4nny is basically the "seagull streamer" equivalent in regards to tf2; there is just not nearly as much tf2 viewership.

I don't think it's fair to compare seagull to banny in any way, besides the fact that they both get high viewership in their respective games. God I hate fucking idiots.

they're both talented at their respective games, are looked up to by newer players and, when they stream, essentially monopolize the viewership for said games. I'm not going to delve into comparing their "streamer" personalities.

#241 NBA Playoffs in Off Topic

i understand wanting to leave OKC - they have consistently fallen short. i'd have more respect for the move if maybe he went to a team like boston or wherever else. but joining the team you were up 3-1 against in the playoffs, that is already historically great, is a really soft move. any championships he wins will be tarnished in my eyes.

Mr_Harvardi wonder why new people come and go so often in this community
hmm...

agreed to an extent

skyranger clearly has a legitimate curiosity and interest in the competitive community. he may be a little naive and uninformed but that's kinda the point of teamfortress.tv -- a hub of sorts for competitive news, discussion, etc. i feel a little sad to witness that sky is slowly realizing the competitive community is a somewhat inclusive circlejerk of vitriol (to the uninitiated) and memes.
